Both sides in Sudan’s civil war have sympathizers within the Chadian government. In the capital N’djamena, President Mahamat Idriss Déby and senior aides have aligned more closely with the RSF, allowing it to use Chadian territory for logistics, recruitment, and weapons delivery. Closer to the border, many Chadian army officers and soldiers are more sympathetic to the Sudanese Joint Force (allied to the military), and some have even traded uniforms and crossed into Sudan to join the fight.
