Gee, I don’t know. If their goal was to kill millions of people in Africa, it is a roaring success.

      A total bust for whom?

I assumed a big part of the point of the entire endeavour was Musk gutting regulatory agencies that could exert control over his various businesses.

The 600K+ dead from DOGE cuts isn’t a bust it’s genocide, and they need to be held accountable for their crimes.

    4. I’m sorry but I can’t believe this. I mean he came out on stage with a working chainsaw while wearing sunglasses indoors. You don’t just do that when you don’t have a rock solid plan to implement immediately and expeditiously.

I think that was the point. Bust it all up, too many black folks have jobs!

I am still concerned about what was done with all our social security information and where that’s being held. Elon and his little DOGE nerds need to answer for that

ExDOGE staffer that never figured out why they were really there

    8. Apart from the massive gouge and the immense data heist. Those parts went just fine.

Only if one believes the given purpose of DOGE.

Its *true* purpose was to exfiltrate tons of government data… at which was a huge success.

      Hate that headline.

It wasn’t a total bust. They lied about their true intentions. It was never their intention to lower the deficit or help the American people in anyway. It was always fraud.

When it comes to stealing data from hundreds of millions of Americans, enacting cruelty for the sake of cruelty including racist and sexist policies, closing programs designed to stimulate the American economy while also helping feed and support our allies, and escape accountability for the richest and most corrupt participants in our government by getting rid of oversight and eliminating active cases into their corruption… DOGE was wildly successful.

No. This wasn’t a bust, because their stated goal was never the actual objective.

It was a great move if, say, you were a tech oligarch, and your actual move was to steal all of our data, off-site it, and introduce security vulnerabilities to ensure that you can *keep doing that for as long as your guy is in charge*.

Don’t piss in my mouth and tell me it’s raining.

If they needlessly increased human suffering then you can’t call it a *total* bust, can you?

    13. >the Whole Thing Was a Total Bust

Are you sure he didn’t say „bust out,“ as in they busted out the private and legally protected data of Americans for Musk and company to profit from?

    14. DesmadreGuy on

Total bust my ass. It was data theft masquerading as making government more efficient. Our personal info is now floating around in xAI.

History (and congressional Dems, once they get their act together and control the House again) will not be kind to these fuckers.

    15. I_who_have_no_need on

What if the whole thing was just the data we stole along the way?

    16. bored_ryan2 on

Not a “bust”. A “bust” would indicate that, more or less, nothing was gained for the effort, but not much was lost.

DOGE was an absolute pillaging of government agencies incurring huge costs to the American taxpayer. And the wholesale theft of Americans sensitive data.

    17. It was a bust for what they claimed the purpose was, to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.

For the real purposes it was a resounding success. Dismantling institutions deemed too „woke“, purging government employees who weren’t sufficiently loyal, and stealing personal information on hundreds of millions of Americans to be used for profiling and to sell to the highest bidders.

    18. I think the question should be “why are these guys still walking free” given the level of personal information they stole from the American people.

    19. No. No, it wasn’t a bust.

It wasn’t supposed to help “us.”

They destroyed agencies that helped the people. Stole our data, skimmed money and left.

It was never supposed to help us but it was very effective at sabotaging us, which was the point all along.

In a few years someone will admit it was all fake so Elon could get Social Security info he could use it for himself and sell to others like Russia

    21. Nizle_Bizle_Shizle on

it wasn’t a bust for Musk, he managed to shutdown investigations into himself and his companies.

    22. Starbucks__Lovers on

What!? You mean when doge came around and accused me of being waste at my attorney job where I safeguarded the government from getting sued on 9-figure contracts while getting paid under $150k for it was bullshit!?

    23. It wasn’t a bust. They literally were able to steal every bit of protected data from ALL Americans. And it cost them nothing. In fact, they paid themselves to do it.

    24. He hired kids to take the heat for whatever doge got caught for while he stole all of our data to train his ai. not sure whos buying this „bust“ stuff, but it worked so well people still dont know what happened.

    25. It wasn’t really. They got exactly what they went in for, access to every living Americans‘ data AND they took it for their personal usage. You can bet that both Peter Thiel and Elon Musk have it all.

    26. Breaking into highly sensitive and secured data systems was about reducing the federal deficit, and DOGE failed the mission?

You mean DEI and gender aren’t the source of all their problems after all?

Let’s count how many admit it now… … … I don’t hear anybody saying, “one.”
