Actually pretty cool. Because of movies and television I never thought about how a laser works work in space. Were are trained to believe it’s PEW PEW PEW then a giant explosion. But please correct me if I’m wrong, here it’s simply the target’s inability to shed heat in space that eventually melts and disables the functionality. No explosion. Just failure. Correct?

People are misinterpreting this article… they are definitely NOT saying that a chinese laser blew up a sat.
