    1. Submission statement:

In the current war, Israel has killed many Iranian leaders. This isn’t a new tactic, they’ve used it before: It killed Hezbollah’s leader, the group still fires rockets. It killed almost every single Hamas leader, the group still controls half of Gaza and refuses to disarm. Going further back in history, Israel also killed Hezbollah’s leader in 1992, Nasrallah replaced him and made the group stronger, punishing Israel in its 2006 invasion of Lebanon. In terms of heads of state, Congo’s Prime Minister was killed in 1961 in a plot backed by the CIA and Belgium, after which the country lived through decades of suffering. Similar issues arose after the killing of Gadhafi and Saddam Hussein. Israel says decapitation strikes degrade leaders’ ability to issue orders to the military, form policy and make decisions. The problem is these assassinations rarely address the underlying grievances that propel conflicts. Killing leaders can also backfire, radicalizing followers, elevating more extreme successors and tactics or turning slain leaders into martyrs with enduring influence.

If you kill all the leaders who can you negotiate with? You can’t. This is intentional

    3. Juat because you can doesn’t mean you should. I can hardly think of a more deserving bunch but history tells us that power vacuum are always filled with increasingly worse villains.

A stalemate with Hezzbollah? That’s pretty generous. That makes it seem like it was an even fight. Israel has shown a tremendous amount of restraint. If you’re fighting against fanatics, this strategy doesn’t work because fanatics do not care for their own survival

    5. Yeah, there’s a reason one of the oldest rules of warfare on the planet is not to kill each other’s leaders, officers, or diplomats. At the end of a war, you need someone to talk to, and if the losing side also loses its leaders, the resulting chaos won’t benefit anyone. Of course, Israel doesn’t care about that because its goal is chaos.

Well, yes, at some point you also need to find some ‘responsible’ people to negotiate with.

    7. Well what I think they are trying to say is if you kill everyone then there will not be anyone around to negotiate. Israel and perhaps some neocons will not have a problem with this but with end in sight, Donald will want to conclude this matter as soon as he can. He has to meet Xi at some point.

    8. So Israel showing the world there the true super power ? This war hasn’t looked good for the USA
