Is this woman for real? Have the legal costs of their 20 year battling to demonstrate they weren’t one of the regular ordinary people to whom the law actually applies been awarded yet? Awful stuff.
Just like the taxpayer has been forced to pay to defend against their frivolous court cases for the last 20 years.
The cost of upholding all of our laws comes back on the taxpayer. They could have chosen not to flout aforementioned laws.

What is the profession of the Murrays to be able to build such a home and to be able to withstand the state legal system for 2 decades ?
A 20 year scourge on society finally comes to an end. We need to reflect & fix the 20 year part, should have been demolished within 2 months.
I did get a good laugh hearing her talk about the son having security come in & then the daughter getting home from the gym. Right up until the last second they were just pretending they did nothing wrong and were living life as normal, the entitlement was astounding.

The house should’ve been knocked 20 years ago. My take is that notwithstanding the legal challenges, the courts and Meath CC likely dragged their heels, to wait until the children were adults which they are now. No coincidence they’re aged 19+ now.
This couple were obviously frustrated and made a series of bad decisions many years ago. But at the same time they were able to raise their children in this house which is more than they probably deserved with zero planning permission.
It rubs people up the wrong way too that they built a house twice the size of the one they were refused PP for.
Mrs Murray really comes across as the grade A cunt that I always suspected that she was.
The cost of justice can be high sometimes, and pursuing it even when cost prohibitive, is no reason not to do so. I’m curious to know their background, the way they talk, you’d swear they and the little children will be on the streets. I’m sure there’s no lack of money to chase costs.

Late to the party here, how did they get utilities to the house if they had no planning permission? Gas, water, sewerage and electricity companies not aware of this? Seems mental that this was 20 years of legal battle when it should have been 20 days
Have they tried to fine them the amount that all these appeals and court cases cost, as well as the cost of the demolition and clean up. If I was in the council I would order it burned down as an insult. Plus save on some of the demo cost.
It’s so annoying the amount of people saying they should let them keep the house “in the current climate”.

They fled the country because they are above the law. When they come back, they should be sent to prison for wasting taxpayers‘ money, and a video of the house being demolished played on loop in their cell.

I mean, I’m fine with that, if it means I get to have a go on one of the machines. Make a day of it, everybody gets one swing of the wrecking ball. I think we could all do with a good day out.

Did the council take possession of the land? Maybe be able to get the money back that way?
I had some sympathy at the start for them when I first heard about it years ago, I am from Meath and knew about the problem earlier, (they bought a field thinking they could get planning on it, but the restrictions were apparently not mentioned on the deed).
But seriously almost every action since made me lose more and more sympathy for them. They were so blatant and nasty in how they approached the situation. I can understand the frustrations with the planning system and Meath county council but seriously they should have known better. They always come across as entitled or my mother says ‘she has a serious case of brass neck’.
Probably a bit mean, but people like this seem to exist solely as a fork of rage bait from the gods

The amount of locals defending them is baffling to me. They are the most arrogant people I have ever had the misfortune to know. She drove around in this shiny red Merc for years behaving as if she owned the place. She would barely give the time of day to anyone she felt was beneath her and from what I remember never worked.
I do feel sorry for the kids. Yes theyre now classed as adults but very young adults and they didnt ask for any of this. I think shes an even bigger cunt for using them to sway public opinion and garner sympathy. I have kids their age and I couldnt possibly imagine leaving them alone knowing full well this was about to happen.
I just cant understand how everyone is defending them now when the same people tore the back off them for the last 20 years.
