Which entails a software update if something is deemed not adequately safe.

It’s a quick over the air software fix recall, not a pull from market recall.

Tesla will never have FSD as long as they continue to foolishly shun LiDAR. I have a fully electric Hyundai and after I compared multiple electric vehicles when I was shopping around, I’ll never understand why anyone would pay for a Tesla. Overpriced and overhyped.

Yet another crap headline. And further illustrates why the NHTSA needs a different term than „recall“. „Mandatory remediation“ perhaps. The public does not understand what „recall“ means. The public hears „Tesla has to bring all of the cars back in to do some repair. Perhaps even take back the car, or refund a portion.“ and not „There’s a problem, and a software update that’s already available fixes it.“. And yes, what the public thinks it means is important in this area because that’s the entire argument against „autopilot“: the public doesn’t understand what „autopilot“ actually means and they have their own perceptions what it means.
Yep, should they determine that FSD doesn’t force control back to the driver soon enough, focus on that as the headline. That’s a problem worth complaining about.

If only there was a federal regulatory body that was looking into Tesla and their defective products- such a regulatory body would probably be a prime target if Elon Musk somehow made his way into the halls of government.
But surely that would never happen, and the investigations will be thorough and objective.

That trash software should’ve been recalled the second it came out.

A „recall“ for software generally just means they deliver a bug fix in an over the air update.
FSD has already become too finicky, detecting „poor road conditions“ and shutting down if it sees basically a single drop of rain. I hope this doesn’t make it worse.

If you’re driving a Tesla, not only are you supporting a Nazi billionaire that wants to enslave you, your shit also doesn’t work.
