Btw.: Bulgaria is not Hungary! The country’s ties with Russia go back a long way in its history. The Russians helped the Bulgarians drive the Ottomans out of the country. The Russians did not do this out of friendship, but because they themselves were repeatedly at war with the Ottomans. This gave rise to what is known as a traditional bond with the Russians.
