    1. Reading about the Meath planning saga again and honestly I’ve no sympathy for them. They built a house twice the size of what they were refused permission for, ignored every ruling for nearly 20 years, and then act shocked when the council finally enforces it.

And saying they’re being treated “worse than criminals” is a bit rich. Most people who follow planning laws don’t get to build a €1m mansion and fight the system for two decades.

It’s a grim situation, sure, but it’s one entirely of their own making.

    2. „You shouldn’t stop us doing the illegal things we’re doing, because other people exist who do illegal things“

Cunts have ridde roughshod over us for the past 20 years, they need to be made to pay.

I hope the council is seeking the costs it was awarded from these people

I have a question. Appeals or not, how does it take 20 fucking years to enforce  the law?

      They must be unbearable.

Celtic Tiger excess in a McMansion

They also drew parallel with the School gate weirdo. Astonishing.

Gardaí reported to the High Court yesterday that they were unable to locate the Murrays for the purpose of bringing them to court. They’re literally on the run from the Gardaí but somehow are happy to plead their case to every media outlet in the country. The Irish times has an interview with them this morning too. Nasty, selfish individuals who have made a mockery of our planning laws for 20 years. They’ll likely have to spend time in prison for contempt of court, and evading Gardaí will be another mark against them.

I have no sympathy for the cunts, the pair of them.

In the IT he is acting the poor mouth.

      >On Monday, Meath County Council took possession of the home. Chris Murray said his three children, aged between 19 and 24, were having their breakfast on Monday morning when security men arrived with gardaí.

      >He claimed his children were evicted on the spot and all their belongings remain in the house.

They’ve had 4 years to get their stuff out of the house.

Why havent they used that time? How is it now the states fault that these fools refused to accept the reality of the world ?

      >We have had enough. We have no problem moving out of this house. We tried everything in our power to give this house to charity,” he said.

And this offer to give it to charity ? Come off it.

This has been going on since I was 15, I’m 35 now. Absolutely incredible that these people are playing victim

Feel like the demolition of this house should be televised. Sick of hearing about these entitled cunts

Tone deaf, they sound seriously entitled and very few people have any sympathy after they wasted the councils time for 20 years and the tax payer picked up the bill. We’ll pay for demolishing that house now too.

They should have to pay every penny of money they wasted.

It’s also an embarrassment that it’s taken 20 years to enforce the law, that needs some urgent changes.

They knew the risks when they built without planning permission, I think they just hoped the local authority would just give up. I have always suspected that as the couple was so blatant that the council just dug their heels in and rightly so.

There are big problems with our planning process and regulations around it. But this case is not one of those.

I always wondered how they their solicitors didn’t just tell them the case was unwinnable.

Having lived around the corner of kinahan seized houses, they really haven’t a clue.

This is appalling. We have the crowbar men taking the roof from over citizens heads. It was bad enough when the brits were doing it

It’s messers like this pair that pull planning resources away from processing legitimate applications. We have huge issues with our planning process, but these gowls have been causing delays for others for twenty years with their time wasting.

    16. myaccount1994 on

The council absolutely have to follow this through.

Yes it’s madness that it has taken 20 years to get to this point but imagine the precedent it would set if the council gave up and just let them have it.
Yes there is issues with planning permission and especially in the current market when there is such a shortage of homes the process really needs to be reviewed but there is no choice other than to knock it.

Not only would it then allude to people to ignore the rulings on planning permission process but it would be a kick in the teeth to everyone who has previously been denied approval and accepted it (Whether it was denied for right reasons or not).

We are being treated worse than the Nazis at the Nuremburg trials, and sure didn’t people have sympathy for them?!

    18. Absolute morons. No sympathy whatsoever. They’re probably customers of the kinahans anyway ❄️

Like that lady in Dalkey that described a new footpath as ‚like living in Gaza‘ in terms of analogies.
