      We’ll see where it goes, but so far it’s an interesting case study in the limitations of Trump’s strong-man „diplomacy“.

      He wants other countries, especially NATO, to take more of the burden of policing the world.  But because he launched into this war unilaterally, without so much as a heads-up to his nominal allies, he owns this entire quagmire.

      If he had approached NATO countries, especially the UK, ahead of time and sold them on the need for action against Iran, I bet they would have been a lot more willing to support in roles like mine clearing and convoy duty.

      Trump is learning in real time that while America doesn’t „need“ its allies, life is a lot less comfortable without them

      Our prime minister was flailing at first. Calling for de-escalation and „the right for Israel to defend itself“ when the USA and Israel were the ones escalating and Iran was the one being attacked was certainly a choice.
