      What if this planet actually exists in the same spot, on the opposite arm of the Milky Way?

      This is an interesting experiment. The proportions look so weird to me that I could’ve sworn there must be something wrong with the original map, yet I just put it in an image editor and flipped it and it’s a 100% normal map.

      In my mind South America was always directly below North America, but this mirroring really highlights how offset they are from each other.

      I remember playing old games, looking at the in-game map, and thinking „how can the desert biome be on the same latitude as the forest biome? That’s ridiculous!“ 

      Seeing the world reversed has me re-evaluating my assumptions

      What projection is this? The poles looks really stretched – Alaska is almost unrecognizable.

      Wow Africa is so unsettling it looks like the top right portion of the continent is a huge tumor or something
