Russian airspace restrictions since Feb 2022 and the Iranian airspace closure on 28 Feb 2026 has left one corridor over Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan.

Do you think Israel could make an empire in the Middle East ? With vassal states expanding its culture etc

Does that meant that the East-west travel would have grind into a halt if Azerbaijan did not win as hard as it did in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War and had to resort to long term bombing?🤔

I am genuinely curious over why the Islamic Republic of Iran is not bombing positions in Azerbaijan. They would not need to attack infrastructure, if they just did so many times on a desolate mountain, it would be enough to shut this air travel corridor, effectively disrupting Eurasian air travel.
Should one want to fly from East Asia or South Asia they would be forced to do a detour over Central Asia and European Russia, or go through the depicted southern corridor. And if they bombed Oman even more, that path would also be shut, forcing plains to go around Arabia. And if the Houthis attacked air travel, they would be forced to go all the way to Ethiopia.

En realidad la ruta norte, por Rusia, no está cerrada para todos. Las aerolíneas chinas aún la usan. Probablemente otras aerolíneas también.

Well at least Armenia and Azerbaijan are good friendly neighbors and would never start shooting at each other all of a sudden. Right? Right??

Wars are the priority for humans, not travelling so this is how it is.
I remember this route was already used a lot by Dutch airlines flying to Indonesia I used to take a lot. Seeing the Danube delta, black sea with mountains in north Turkey, snowy mountain roads in Armenia and Azerbeidzjan, Baku lights and oil installations. Darkness of Caspian sea and Turmenistan desert. The massively lights suddenly if you crossed in Afghanistan airspace from a US airbase near Herat. Then endless lights of Indian cities, darkness again over Indian ocean and finally the smog of Jakarta.

This map makes it look like Turkish airzone is being avoided however the reality is most of the reroutes are via Istanbul.

Its amazing flights were going over iran anyway. Surely they learnt they could shoot down international aircraft like Russia did and theres zero consequences

Interesting to me that the route to Australia takes a more northern course than the route to India
