Nach Jahren des Rückgangs stiegen die belgischen Emissionen dank der flämischen Industrie und des flämischen Verkehrs wieder an

20% more emissions due to ever increasing traffic, but by god does the population freak the fuck out every time any level of government does the slightest thing to reduce the number of cars on our roads.

Most people don’t give a shit about climate change when it personally affects them. The fact that they don’t mind that we keep driving and emitting more and more proves that.

Ziet ge wel mensen, het komt NIET door de houtstoof!

Edit: got blocked by op for this joke

    3. Force WFH for jobs where it is possible. Cutting the commute will help a lot because it also helps other traffic move smoother.

And reduce the amount of companies doing home deliveries. A lot of this is trucks driving through our streets daily, stopping and idling every couple of homes.

    4. Not surprising. More and more companies, even the government is limiting working from home again. So thats already a lot of extra cars right there. And it will get even worse because this movement isnt done yet.

Just ban parking on the street lmao.
Stops people without garage space from getting six cars

Edit: got blocked by op over this

Jarenlang groen beleid en het sluiten van koolstofneutrale energievoorzieningen leidt inderdaad tot meer uitstoot….

      Dit had niemand zien aankomen.

Its probably nothing to do with all those trucks crossing through Belgium and the increase of RTO…

    8. Invest in more infrastructure. Cars and trucks in traffic jams use more fuel, and have higher emissions.

Also this is easy to blame Flanders. The same Flanders that is the economical life line for Brussels and Wallonia.

And the fact that the nuclear power plants were shut down and replaced by gas-fired power plants has absolutely nothing to do with it, you know.

Well, people here (Antwerp city centre) take the car for like everything. People are addicted to their cars its insane.

    12. Housing also is causing more emissions than it used to. WFH is not the solution to this.

    13. Make bike commuting and public transport financially more interesting. It’s as simple as that.

Most people don’t bother if biking or public transport takes an half-hour longer, if it’s financially more interesting.

We should at least do the following.
      – Increase bike allowance. It should be as advantageous as leasing a car (+ 400 net).
      – Make bike leasing through your employer, available for everyone.
      – A public transport ticket should be cheaper than paying for the fuel you use for the same distance done by car.

    14. More carless day, less company cars, more bikes, more piétonnier, but watchout you might strike a boomer nerve with your *INSANE* demands
