      More likely because of the high speed and not an explosion. Good find nonetheless.

      Great catch of an F-15! No explosion however.

      The red color you see is not an explosion. It’s an imaging artifact. Satellites take images in various wavelengths of light one after another. So a fast moving object will appear in several exposures and will look different color in each color channel.

      The red thing you see is just an image of that same F-15 in the red channel.
