  1. Bad week? He’d have sacrificed Iran for half the rise in oil price we’ve seen, for a tenth of the time we’re even likely to see it.

With Russian oil back on the line? This has to be a bullshit news story. Putin stands to make bank. And with the extra money, he can afford to pay dividends to select troops and commanders to keep them in the field.

    It was bad and good
Bad that major electronics factory got blown to bits
Bad for a number of refineries getting droned
Bad that people are getting restless in Russia complaining about Internet and social media getting blocked.

    But
Good week for making more money on oil prices

Iran is just a sacrificial pawn for Russia to cede.

    Russian oil back on line.

Western anti-drone/missile ammo being used up, it’ll take years for the U.S. to replenish it’s own stocks and those of it’s middle-eastern allies. In that time Europe will struggle to procure much from America, which means less for Europe to transfer to Ukraine, less for any successor of Donald Trump to be able to donate.

Iran has shown itself to be an enemy of Ukraine – but the war against Iran is bad for Ukraine anyway. Ukraine remains Russia’s #1 priority; Russia happily burns through Iran in pursuit of that priority.
