Drugs wins this round of the drug war, just like all the others.
Great, now we will have more open drug use, and overdoses in public, using up more emergency services.
People with SUD will not suddenly stop using drugs because the government makes it less safe. They will simply use in more risky conditions that lead to more overdoses and communicable disease spread.
Which will further stress our already stressed health care system.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This will not save us money.
