      In a world spiraling into war, with AI rising and jobs falling, it’s easy to miss the little things — like a spate of young Republicans praising Hitler.

      Not so long ago, hugging Hitler was one of those lines you just didn’t cross in a decent democracy, and for good reason: fascism, the Second World War and genocide. Murdering millions of humans should never inspire admiration.

      But that’s what’s been happening with increasing regularity, revealed by a recent string of unhinged text chains revealed among young Republican leaders. This isn’t an outlier or a one-off. It’s a pattern and a problem.

      Last week, the Miami Herald revealed the contents of an extensive group chat started by the secretary of Miami-Dade County’s Republican Party, for conservative students at Florida International University. The chat quickly degenerated into a cesspool of racism, violent fantasies, and Hitler-admiration. The n-word was used over 400 times, including in ruminations on the best ways to murder African Americans (curb-stomping and crucifixion were mentioned by one allegedly pro-life member of the chat). The chat also included extensive references to women as “whores,” fantasies about all-white immigration laws, and free-flowing hatred toward Jewish Americans. The chat group was named “Gooning in Agartha” — which is a strange combo platter suggesting ornate masturbation rituals in “Nazi heaven.”

      It’s more along the lines that their long time identity is being exposed. It isn’t a transformation as much as an inability to keep it’s appearances in check.

      At this point, the Republican party should be outright dissolved. Let the Democrat party become the right-wing party of the US & allow a properly progressive contingent to get on stage.

      If the prevalence of Nazis in your party is big enough to be considered “a problem”, that also suggests that they are an influential voting bloc. Thus, while they won’t outright admit it, Republicans must appease this group of people to secure voter turnout. It’s almost like the Southern Strategy started taking amphetamines and evolved into the Nazi Strategy

      Mussolini and Hitler both had one most important step in their trajectories:
      Being accepted by the rich and powerful.

      Without that step, the slide into fascism does not happen.

      Now look at the American rich and powerful. Bending the knee, licking T’s arse.

      Military and police are on the fascists‘ side, as they usually are.

      America is going full tilt into a fascist dictatorship.

      Next step: an attack by the ‚others‘, like what the Reichstagsbrand was in Germany.
      Then: emergency laws to preserve the republic.

      They don’t even have to curtail the freedom of the press, bc there already is no free press that matters. So much cleaner that way.

      Even making other parties illegal won’t be strictly necessary. All the USA has is a controlled opposition that is hardly distinguishable from the Fascists. The few dissenting voices don’t really matter.

      In short: there is nothing to stop the swines.

      You’d be EXTREMELY lucky, if you get to vote in Nov and if that vote has the intended consequences.

      It’s not getting worse, it’s getting exposed more clearly. White supremacists, Nazis, fascists, and similar types of hateful bigots have been infesting the Republican party for decades. The fact that this is becoming more clear is both good and bad. Good because recognizing a problem is the first step in solving it. Bad because these fucking Nazis have been emboldened to come out of hiding and take off their Republican MAGA masks to show who they really are.

      The GOP has abandoned all principles it once held and has, over the last few decades, been stripped down to a party with a single guiding principle.

      Win at all costs.

      They will not do anything to jettison mazes from their party.

      This reads like conservatism isn’t fundamentally based on entitlement, on self-righteousness that requires a group that is right and should therefore be in power and a group that is wrong and should therefore be subdued. This is true socially, politically, theologically… and since it requires the ongoing belief and practice that „I am right and they are wrong“, there is no room for introspection, intellect, or compassion. Illogic is not an invitation to reconsider or explore, but proof that those who disagree – those who are wrong – have too much of a voice and should be silenced.

      It’s why bigotry and nationalism are so powerful among the uneducated and ignorant: if you have little to contribute or to feel good about, celebrate that you’re white. That you’re American. That gives you identity, pride, and enemies.

      In other words: the „Republican Party’s Nazi Problem“ isn’t a bug, it’s a feature, and it always has been.

      I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – If you go into a bar and there are Nazis in the bar and they are not actively being thrown out: you are in a Nazi bar. Same rule applies to political parties.

Worse yet, poc ,especially poc immigrants have been getting pulled into this bullshit because of self hate and a want to be a white American. Look at what happened with latest racist republican text thread. They were latino. Probably 2nd generation talking shit about Blacks. Insane.

      There’s a lot of things republicans *should* be doing but aren’t. Headlines like these pretend like republicans are just scared little puppies that are too afraid of big evil Trump to do their jobs properly. The reality is they all support what he’s doing and actively and deliberately ensure that he can get away with everything he does. To do otherwise would ensure their imprisonment if they’re voted out.

      Stop hoping the republicans „see the light“ and turn on Trump. It isn’t gonna happen. A handful might start ruling against him but it’s never going to be enough to course correct the party.

      Dear Rolling Stone – the Nazis in the Republican party isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. In fact it’s not even a feature – it’s the central philosophy.
