Speaking as an Iranian (currently in the US the last three years) this is what is needed if the people are to stand a chance. Ground troops aren’t coming but we need some sort of support for the unarmed masses.

Honestly I get that they are desperate but they aren’t going to have a country to live in if the IRGC falls because is not real is out to destroy the country. So in a way they should be thankful the IRGC is fighting. And so far they are doing a fantastic tactical job as a military person I give them props it’s impressive.
If the people of Iran are helping other countries to attack themselves, it’s pretty obvious who the bad actors are.
