Best part of that shit show was the 1st person segment with Karl Urban.

    Edited 3rd to 1st

That’s not true at all. It may not be high art but there is plenty to like about it, including Rosamund Pike.

I mean it was bad, but not THAT bad. The first person part was pretty cool.

Doom 2005 + Mortal Kombat 1995 are my guilty fun combo…they are silly, have plenty of cringeworthy lines, but the casting is quite spot on.

  5. Doom was awesome for what it was I think she’s giving her self to much class lmfao 🤣

I was watching through quite a few video games movie adaptations last year for some reason, and whilst it may not be a high bar to clear, at least Doom was mindlessly enjoyable at points, the first person scene alone is better than 95% of other video game movie adaptations.

I saw this in the theaters and people started cheering when they switched to the first person shooter view for one of the scenes. Movie wasnt ffor everybody but people certainly enjoyed it.

I really like this movie, mostly. She and Karl Urban were my favorite parts of the movie.

Its not intellectually or emotionally stimulating, but its fun and entertaining and I still own the DVD I got from Mexico.

As a kid I really enjoyed this movie didn’t realized people didn’t like it until now

It was my kids moms favorite movie. Should’ve seen the red flag immediately.

I’m not super familiar with the games, but it’s dumb fun. Good action/horror movie to turn your brain off, have some laughs, and enjoy it for what it is. I don’t think anyone reasonable expected high art from this even when it came out. Especially as a video game adaptation

This is a weird movie that I hate so much but I love watching it. Not sure why. It’s so stupid.

I remember seeing the Rock selling this movie and there was this awkward moment on the Daily Show where Jon Stewart is clearly a Doom fan, and so is the Rock, and they’re having a pleasant nerd conversation about everything they remember enjoying in the game, but then Jon asks if „dudes who throw fireballs“ (imps) are in the movie and Johnson just has to awkwardly be like, „No, we don’t have them…“ and the air was sucked out of the interview. Yeah, you had NOTHING in the movie that was like the game you were reminiscing about, Dwayne.

Why? It’s not like she was the lead or anything.

Unless you went to see it, you wouldn’t even know she was in it. Can’t imagine casting directors and agents were rushing out to catch it.

  15. Very hyperbolic.

It’s middling, but far from the worst. It’s a fun watch if you know what you’re getting.

  16. When that movie shifts into first person Doom view it’s awesome. Whole movie should’ve been like that.

  17. I’m not going to call it a great film, but it’s a guilty pleasure of mine. And it’s far from „One of the worst films ever made.“ I’d rather watch it than Die Another Day for that matter.

I get that she’s embarrassed to be in it, but she should have a little consideration for all the other people who worked so hard on it.

  18. They should have just had the whole movie be in 1st person like that one segment.

  19. I actually like that movie a lot, it’s a shitty Doom adaptation, but it was a fun sci-fi film.
