If this is true, it means someone is telling someone else which ships are headed for which destination. That means there’s a communication process which might be vulnerable to whatever countermeasures.

Disrupt that process and Iran is faced with a choice of stopping all traffic and facing pressure from their allies/customers… or letting all shipping pass through unbothered.

    > US, Israel Europe face restrictions

How much oil going through Hormuz is headed for the US?

    >The United States receives approximately 2.5% of the oil that passes through the Strait of Hormuz, amounting to roughly 0.5 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2024. This volume represents about 7% of total U.S. crude oil and condensate imports and roughly 2% of total U.S. petroleum liquids consumption.

How much oil going through Hormuz is headed for Israel? Zippo?

Roughly 4% of the total volume passing through, was destined for Europe in early 2026. While about 20–21 million barrels of oil daily (roughly 20% of global consumption) transit the Strait, the **vast majority** (over 80%) **flows to Asian markets**. So Iran can block the straight all they like. High oil prices will produce a mixed bag of results for a net energy producer like the US… and hurt net energy importers like India and China (BRICS partner nations).

tldr; Closing the Straight of Hormuz *isn’t the checkmate move Iran thinks it is*. All they’re doing is giving everyone else an incentive to move away from dependence on petroleum… which is a good thing in the long run.

2 rupees godi bots in full force as is.

  4. I mean it’s the decent thing to do, why attack Indian or really any Asian tanker when it’s western and Israeli bullshit going on. Fuck this dumb war.

Reddit experts were adamant: the strait is now impassable because of 12 sea mines deployed earlier by Iran.

  6. Jai Modi, Heil Modi! Now he can sell oil to other in countries. He has permission to import oil from Russia..The only Prime Minister to achieve this. Great leader and a great servant to other countries.

Then that is fine. The US barely buys any oil from the Persian Gulf while Europe can get their oil from Fujarah and Yanbu. Israel has never gotten any oil from the Persian Gulf since 1979. The Persian Gulf has served mainly Asia for well over a decade now.

  8. India, I mean Modi the Islamophobic, have been a toady for the Israelis ,and child killer Netanyahu, and hostile towards Iran. Something is going on here, probably because India doesn’t have any oil reserves.

What would anyone expect? India and Chinese vessels aren’t involved in this.

Iran has behaved very rationally so far. Obama’s nuclear deal is looking pretty great now

There is a severe energy crisis in India, and India’s decent diplomatic relationship to any country not named Pakistan will in the end win out. Win-win for both sides.

It’s funny that’s they think it’s like a toll road. They don’t have a choice.

Europe imports like 5 percent of it’s crude from there, used to be a lot more, Asia in big trouble.
