    >Roughly seven months ago, Ukrainian officials tried to sell the White House the technology to destroy Iran’s inexpensive, low-flying drones, going so far as to compile a PowerPoint presentation to sway the admin. The intel was battle-proven: Ukraine has more experience fighting Shaheds than practically any other country, downing the same design under Russia’s flag (Russia rebranded the military tech as “Geran drones”).

    >The decision to snub the offer is now being discussed as one of the biggest miscalculations thus far in the Iran war.

  2. Trump is very, very stupid. And arrogant. And also he has dementia. And he’s a Russian asset. And he’s delusional.

Trump thinking he knows better than experienced battle hardened professionals?

    Shocked?

    Anyone?

  4. Every time more examples of profound incompetence emerge from the Epstein administration I am shocked, not at the incompetence itself, for we’re all used to that, but at the fact that it can still surprise me.

  5. Massive L indeed.

„Iran’s Shahed attack drones had proved a more difficult problem than initially predicted.“

This is a massive understatement. There was this one video all over social media where a single HESA 136 impacted and exploded a 1 billion+ dollar THAAD radar array. The Shahed and it’s Russian derivates are the most cost effective weapon of the 21st century. The Americans fielding their own models now even.

Once again – calling this a „tactical error“ is complete BS.

Not considering that Iran, that supplies Russia with drones to use against Ukraine (or did? is Russia producing 100% domestic now?), would use drones to retaliate, with large numbers is not a tactical error. Forcing the military into a conflict that they were not prepared for with no justification (except Trump’s own, on the record – „to create a distraction“ videos from years ago) is not a tactical error. Not having anti-drone technology developed, and deployed again – is not a tactical error.

It’s complete lack of understanding of what’s going on.

The entire administration was apparently also completely shocked that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz would impact global energy prices.

    It’s a complete blunder.

  7. I don’t think there was enough thought going on to consider this a „tactical error“

This is a dude that doesn’t know checkers from chess.

“Tactical Error” makes it sound like there was considerable thoughtfulness that went into it.

Trump is just a narcissistic, impulsive moron

  9. Tactical error? Mistakes?

This man could literally diarrhea shit his pants on stage and every single republican congress member, and about 4 „democrats“ would give him a standing ovation for 60 straight minutes.

    Nothing matters anymore.

Calling anything he does a „tactical error“ is wrong on a fundamental level, because there are demonstrably no tactics involved in either his thinking or actions.

  11. Not interested in the plans for your opponent’s most important weapon?

Wtf? How many people will die of lose their homes and livelihoods because of this?

The Trump administration is just immeasurably stupid and incompetent.

When you don’t want society ruled by academics and instead prefer magic books.

  13. Not fucking children on exclusive island somewhere? Oh right, hundreds of Iranian girls died.

This guy can’t get away from harming children .

One has to first have a strategy to make a tactical error. Imagine hiring the literal worst possible candidate for a role with a history of conning everyone and anyone he’s worked with. That’s who we’ve got. Someone who does not give two flying fucks about the country or Americans.

It’s because six months ago, they didn’t think we would be going to war with Iran. This whole thing has been planned on the back of napkin with all the same foresight that I use when I’m planning my dogs birthday party.

  16. When is the last time that fat orange dipshit didn’t make a massive tactical error?

  17. Glum-Breadfruit-6421 on

This is what happens you you vote a complete idiot as your leader. Elections, consequences.

  18. Hillbilly_Boozer on

You can’t make a tactical error if you’re not making decisions with tactics in mind. The whole Iran war is just because he and the republican party are doing anything they can to hold onto power and to distract from other issues, like the Epstein files and a mountain high pile of shitty domestic policies.

This is the way an impulsive, corrupt, easily manipulated, mad man acts who has the support of a group of rubber stamping just as corrupt congressmembers.

The biggest tactical error was starting a land war in the Middle East in the first damn place. 2nd was putting someone like Hegseth in charge of it.

  20. mwanafunzi255 on

It was always obvious to anyone with any military understanding that Ukraine was doing a fantastic service to the west 1st by battle testing their hardware and later by developing new tools and tactics. But they are always portrayed as needy victims. Insane

  21. Ham_I_right on

Counterpoint. The US electing Trump twice has been the biggest tactical error in American history, maybe world history.

  22. Nateleb1234 on

Why aren’t the generals saying no when Trump gives them orders? The military just does whatever he wants. They can refuse to follow illegal orders.

  23. disagreet0disagree on

Basically an admission that the war against Iran was planned well before the phoney “negotiations”.

Republican voters continue putting the rest of the country and world at large, into danger.

    Deport Republican voters.

    Draft Republican voters.

Send every new ICE Agent to Iran, immediately.

This is what happens when you surround yourself with a bunch of yes men.

  26. Wow, Trump has Putin so far up his ass that he actually refused free intel from Zelenskyy on how to defeat Iran’s Shahed drones. Now he is going one step further by removing sanctions on Russian oil (a staunch ally of Iran, no less) to help alleviate the oil price spike caused by his ill-advised war. Fuck this POS traitor.

  27. Protip: Trump doesn’t care if we lose.

He just wants to steal and put us into as much debt as possible.

He is a saboteur, here to destroy America, not to save us.

  28. Memory_Less on

‘Trump was reportedly interested and “asked his team to work on it, but they have done nothing,” an unnamed Ukrainian official told Axios.’

I suspect Trump’s constant rants and unpredictability result in his advisors not listening to him per the quote. What a bunch of incompetent, arrogant no nothings.

  29. Elegant_Situation285 on

not refilling the Strategic Oil Reserve before hand was pretty bone-headed too.

  30. It’s simple really. Trump had no plan to go to war with Iran, this came after Bibi ordered him to. Trump is not smart enough to think ahead and aquire a tech that will help his war, not to mention he’s so arrogant that he believes he can lead the US against the world all by himself and win.
