Imagine if the actions of the entire US government could be vetoed by Hawaii or West Virginia.

Absurd right? How would anything get done if one state could block it all?

Yet that’s the system the EU has decided to put in place.

    2. good ukraine isnt ready

      ukraine needs till atleast 2030

142 votes in favor, 28 against is not even a partisan issue in hungry

    3. Hungary is a hostile nation. How did they join the eu? And why isn’t there a way to remove a bad player?

We’ll get rid of the Orban maffia in April on the 12th. … be patient!

    5. Well, Orban and his Russians did, but that is unsurprising at this stage… which seems to be screwing over Ukraine as much as possible in the time he has left. Does he actually do anything for/with/against Hungarians atm?

    6. We’re facing the same issue as the UN. Hopefully the EU can reform instead of becoming an outdated institution.

    7. Who votes against Hungary being in the EU?

Can we replace Hungary by Ukraine?

Could we please be accurate and make it clear that “ Orban and his regime votes against practically anything that’s decent and in the interest of the EU“?

Hungary isn’t a proper democracy; it hasn’t been been for a long time.

Let’s see what happens in April…

    9. EU isn’t going anywhere with Hungary as a member, even with leadership changes on elections.

Not to defend Orban, but let’s face the reality: Ukraine is currently definetly not eligable for a membership. Even if we disregard the war, Ukraine would be the most corrupt, lowest GDP per Capita, lowest median income country in the union. I admire the Ukrainian fight against Russia and I definetly hope Ukraine will be a part of the EU in my lifetime, but currently this is unfeasable.

Just a reminder to Ukrainian bots that Orban looks after the interests of Hungary and not Ukraine. People forget that Ukraine was basically same country and best buddies with Russia not long ago. Heck, Ukraine send troops in Macedonia in 2001 on behalf of Russia.

    12. European parliment stated in 2022 that Hungary is not a full democracy. Why can not EU set a timeline with demands that Hungary needs to fulfill or else get excluded from EU?

I mean… how much have Hungary cost the EU member states the last couple of years?

    13. Ukraine honestly doesn’t qualify for EU membership. Its government has been very corrupt for at least a decade which makes the country ineligible for the membership. Ukraine doesn’t deserve a free pass just because it’s in the middle of a war while much less corrupt countries have to wait sometimes over a decade to join the club.

I hope the Hungarians give Orbàn the boot this coming election, I really do

I got very little left for Hungary.

Time to sever the rotting flesh.

    16. I mean they are still in the middle of a war that is not going to end for years to come. It’s an optimsm that I would love to have, just like these reconstructions summits like … one thing at a time.

Also, Ukraine is still pretty corrupt

I have a stupid question… Does EU need Hungary? Can they be expelled? I guess that’s 2 questions.
