Hard to claim you weren’t colonized if you lost half your territory and were de facto puppet states
Bro why ru posting this here omg. Go fight in the other post about Greater Nepal if you care so much.

China was also never colonised
Do the people in the ceded regions consider themselves Nepali or Indian?
Oh great, even more land disputes in a region filled with nuclear armed nations.
How understandable are the languages in those regions to nepalis today?
To be fair, land was conquered by Nepal few decades before British mostly due to fall of Mughal Empire which left a power vacuum.
It is same with Thailand map being posted few weeks ago. Territories lost were only conquered few decades ago
China, Russia, Iran and Taiwan weren’t colonized either.
So basically, if they retained that border to this day, around half of the movie „3 Idiots“ (especially the trip from Shimla to Manali) will be filmed in Nepal lol.
Nepal occupation of Garhwal and Kumaon was so severe that it is still remembered for being evil. The Nepalis would sell people into slavery for failing in payments of exorbitant taxes. Garhwal was in Nepali occupation for 12 years and Kumaon for 24 years. In their 12 year rule, Gorkhas sold 200,000 Garhwalis into slavery.
India is nepal. Nepal is India. Indians don’t consider them separately. Make a border wherever you want.
British-Nepalese war, not Anglo-. This was after the treaty of union between England and Scotland in 1707.
Why would the British bother conquering Nepal or Bhutan or Tibet when they had nothing to offer land wise? At the end of the day, Nepal was a puppet of the British empire just like multiple princely states in British India.
The Nepalese kingdom captured these areas from Indian tribes and kingdoms a few decades before losing them to the Brits, not to forget the Nepalese king sided with the British and sent gus troops during the Indian war of Independence in 1857
India and china fiend over the himalayas. If they could, nepal wouldn’t even have sovereignty. I doubt they would ever give up land
Damn Himachal could have been a part of pakistan or nepal. Thank god we are a part of India
The Nepalese had conquered Kumaon in 1790. However, despite all their efforts, they could not defeat Garhwal. Unfortunately, in 1 sep 1803, Garhwal experienced a massive earthquake (one biggest in the history of india 7.8 -8 magnitude), in which the kingdom lost half of its population. When the Nepalese again attacked in 1804, the Garhwalis were compelled to fight with depleted resources. Despite the valour of the Garhwalis, their King Pradyuman Shah was killed in the battle of Khurbura in Doon, paving the way for the Nepalese conquest of Garhwal. you guys think attack a region (kumaon) which became sandwich with garhwal , rohillas ,tibet forces. who are constantly fighting with each other is great action of valour. you guys are just got lucky that here the population was so low at that time and people were constantly fighting with each other and ask your pandits whoes your ancestor in kali kaumaon and western nepal who annexed other part of nepal to create what you calling greater nepal. dont live in absurdity . if that earthquake never happened and there is fight between garhwal kingdom and your so called greater nepal i guarantee you are absolutely walking today with your indian adhar card.
Except that nepal was using garhwal and kumaon to get slaves who were captured and sold to mughals in the plains below. Unsold slaves were thrown to death.

Nepal was part of Akhand Bharat, what is your point?
God I hate irredentism and populist promoting territorial nationalism and war to run away from economic development.
It should be better to accept what you have and focus on things that matter. More land isn’t going to fix your problems
