We need a time limit on how far they can go back, when it is their equipment at fault. I think in the UK they have a 2 year rule, bought in after the water metres kept messing up and companies issuing historic bills. But that will involve legislation that will protect the consumer, so little chance of it happening

I’m a strong believer that if they/their technology fucks up, they shouldn’t be able to come for the money later.
