The gas price only represents a fraction of the flight’s cost(and it’s only between 10% and 40% max depending on the carrier). If there is a price hike this is purely speculation. The long distance in season flights are already super expensive for the average Joe in Canada so I’m not sure they can still go up.

A modern jet might burn something like a hundred thousand litres of jet fuel on a single transcontinental flight. The volumes are almost unfathomable.

I remember a long time ago they said they hedged the fuel prices and used that as an excuse not to lower prices when fuel got cheaper…
