Poland having more overseas bases in more countries than France is incredibly funny to me mate

Surprising how few bases China has. Basically two regional allies and Djibouti.

Any reason Djibouti having so many bases?

didn’t know so many countries had military bases overseas that’s wild
Tribe303 on
This is false. There are no American or British military bases in Canada. We have multinational NATO bases they use, but those are still under Canadian command.
From the source:
CFB North Bay – North Bay’s air force base is the centre for the air defence of all of Canada and works in concert with the United States via NORAD for the air defence of the Canada-U.S. portion of the North American continent.
CFB Suffield – British Army Training Unit Suffield
CFB = Canadian Forces Base, aka Canadian bases we let them use, but remain under Canadian command.
So if this is wrong, what else is?

This map is incorrect, there are no US or UK military bases in Norway, there is a long term storage depot for US vehicles in case of war, but that’s not the same as a base

It’s really map of countries with foreign military deployments not bases.

No Polish bases in Italy at all. If forward deployed military forces has to be considered then this maps are to be updated a lot.
Wtf is this? The US doesn’t have any bases in Thailand.
Singapore, I can see the argument, but Changi also isn’t really a US base. It’s still a Singaporean base.

It’s misleading when they say the US has 800 military bases without including further context. It makes someone thinks that they have 2 bases in every country in the world or something lol

China doesn’t have overseas military bases, they have crucial national infrastructure like deep water ports or energy infrastructure which are built with conditions that allow access, and paid for with loans that give China sovereignty when the host country defaults.

Yeah, some of these also don’t provide any context.
Nepal-England has a small office base for recruiting Gurkha soldiers, not a combat base.
India – Air Force has a presence at one of the small airports to help with Nepal air defense.
