    1. >Writing on Truth Social, Trump said he would hold the event at the ballroom of his golf club in Florida.

Trump was seen driving a golf cart Sunday while spending the weekend in South Florida.

What a loser of a president

Worst-case scenario for world economy, actually. The US was hoping for a quick Venezuela-style success, but Iran looks like it’s going to be a lot tougher.

This is about the worst possible result the USA acheived from their initial invasion. Son taken dads place, Army and Government in agreement. Iran digging their heels in for the long haul and ramping up economic disruption. And they won’t negotiate with the USA because Trump attacked them during diplomatic negotiations, while also lying to them. And lets not forget that day 1 school bombing, that won’t help sway the people, will it.

It’s a real shame that there wasn’t a previous Iran – Iraq war that lasted 8 years and cost around 500,000 lives that we could have looked back on to see how they might react to being attacked and invaded. Some sort of historical context like that would’ve been super helpful here.

“I don’t see any room for diplomacy anymore. Because Donald Trump had been deceiving others and not keeping with his promises, and we experienced this in two times of negotiations – that while we were engaged in negotiation, they struck us,”.

At this point, sen Graham is probably the only person on the planet that is not disappointed by Trump.

Trump just started a war that could cost the world trillions of dollars.

    7. A large portion of Iranians are living in poverty and dealing with rampant inflation. Exactly what is the threat?

    8. Well they probably know any deal made with the US is worth less than used toilet paper and that there is no scenario where Israel accepts anything short of complete submission so their only real option is to bleed the global economy until mounting pressure forces the US and Israel into amenable terms. Frankly I don’t see a scenario where this happens because a long and hectic war with Iran will give Trump more ammunition to declare nation emergencies and mess with elections.

I love how something another country does affect my lively hood on the other side of the world.

It’s been a little more than a week. Regardless of how you feel about the political implications, it seems a bit early to judge the success or failure of any military objectives.

    11. Larrea_tridentata on

Whoa now, MAGAts told me this isn’t a war. It’s a military action.

    12. lol I hate this war but it’s funny how every redditor is now a west point military strategist all of a sudden

    13. Aggressive_Lie_4446 on

The problem with the IRGC is that they assume that the Americans do not know their strategy. I am 100% sure at this point that the Americans plan to occupy Hormozgan Province as well as Kharg Island.
Occupation of the former will largely end all Iranian attacks on shipping at the strait. Occupation of the latter will strangle the IRGC’s economic lifeline as that Island handles like 95% of Iran’s crude exports

The only thing this regime has left is bluster, the losses they’ve incurred already are in the hundreds of billions. They’ve been set back decades militarily. With no hope of even reclaiming their skies ever again, they’ll be sitting ducks for Israeli bombs, the same conditions as Syria and the rest of the formerly hostile region have to suffer. You cannot govern a nation and maintain stability under these conditions.

So the next president, being a Democrat, will get static for extricating our troops again after trump negotiates a deal with Iran behind everyone’s back to sacrifice factions inside Iran and give up the Kurds to Russia. Stop me if you’ve heard something similar to this song before.

    16. lostsailorlivefree on

This isn’t dissimilar to Ukraine in that a) can’t trust negotiations and b) so much destruction it’s just a matter of degrees and the population generally gets more and more entrenched the more they’re murdered from above

Just sad…poor people of these countries just want to have a livelihood and raise their kids, like anyone would

Yay, now China will seize Taiwan too! But everyone prays for world peace right? Until you become president and have the opportunity to make history?

We may already deploying ground troops from what it seems like. I work for a company that have a lot of military servicemen canceling services for being deployed in the next few days.

    20. IlVeroStronzo on

Of course. We know how economic pain lead to Cuba surrendering 40 years ago…

    21. RoseCityHooligan on

We’ve been experiencing “economic pain“ thanks to Trumps policies for a while now, can we end the war he started now?

    22. FrogsJumpFromPussy on

Who would’ve thought that an old fuck with no plan could drag USA in a neverending war

    23. Green_Judge_2239 on

Half of Iran has been prepping for ‚the great war with Satan‘ for decades.

    24. US spent 20 years in a a much less organized country known as Afghanistan. The same fundamentalists took over within a day of the US leaving.

    25. My fear is that the US will use a nuke to force a surrender, since their leadership is on a holy war, and there are no checks and balances left.

    26. RandyMuscle on

Cool, I was getting tired of how awesome the economy was already anyway. I’ve been saying, “Someone should make this worse and also blow up children somewhere that I’m not!” and there was President Trump answering my prayers.
