Die südkoreanischen Waffenexportkontrollgesetze verbieten den Verkauf von Waffen an Kriegsländer. Dies war ihre Entschuldigung dafür, keine Waffen an die Ukraine zu verkaufen. Dennoch sind sie bereit, Waffen an die Golfstaaten zu verkaufen, die einen Verteidigungskrieg gegen den Iran führen.

  1. „Defensive war“ is a stretch. As awful as Iran’s regime is, they are the ones who got attacked (many Arab countries are barely better, except they do business with the West). It is the USA that could call things off any moment, Iran’s regime propably could not even make peace with the USA even if they wanted to since the USA have not made clear what they want in this war in the first place.

    Any counry that exports weapons to such a messy region should have no issues justifying weapons exports to a country that has a clear moral high ground in an actual defensive war.
