Damn, whole 250,000 times less than musk is asking for. Quite a difference.
$10,000 would change most people’s lives.
Aren’t these valuations always kind of made up since so much of their wealth is tied up in ownership?
I.E. if something happened tomorrow and Nvidia’s stock tanked he’d suddenly be worth billions less?
$4 million bonus to the CEO of a company this successful sounds remarkably low though.
$4M? There are electricians that make more. Jensen is being ripped-off.
Jensen, if you’re reading this, I’ll take this burden off your hands
Change in his couch.
Worth of 164 billion is just absolute ridiculous and shouldn’t be a thing
Just another greedy parasite in this world
Had to fight tooth and nail for an additional 1% on my annual raise this year to get a whopping 3% total
pocket change for him
No one should have that much money. That’s crazy, imagine how many families can be helped, kids to have meals, books.
All this while pushing AI shit nobody wants in GPUs and gouging consumers while pivoting to sell 60% of there newly made GPUs to datacenters.
An incentive to do what?
Small payout for selling out all of mankind
When you already have more money than you can spend in several lifetimes- how is even more money an incentive? Its a literal sociopathy.
but I was told if you dont give guys 100billion $, they wont be motivated to work-anymore ™.
Why is Jensen still working? (oh that’s right….Jensen wasnt quite born into the same circumstances his peers were)
the wildest thing about these numbers is the framing. $4M sounds insane to normal people but it’s literally a rounding error on his net worth. like finding a quarter in your couch cushions.
but the real story everyone glosses over — his actual compensation is the stock he already owns. jensen’s been at nvidia since he cofounded it in 1993. the $4M cash bonus is basically a formality so there’s something in the „compensation“ column on the proxy filing. his real „bonus“ was nvidia stock going from $130 to $900+ over the last 3 years.
at least he actually built the company from scratch though. say what you want about the GPU pricing but the guy spent 30 years turning a graphics card company into the backbone of AI infrastructure. that’s a different conversation than some hired-gun CEO collecting $50M packages at companies they joined last tuesday
At that point numbers don’t even matter. It’s the connections, the decision making power he has, the political influence, the influence over supply chains and other companies, the ability to make stuff happen.
Please Jensen i neeed this! My mom is kinda homeless…
Aw it warms the heart
It really shows how incredibly wealthy he is.
One is imaginary money.
The second is probably real money.
Taking a smaller bonus is due to the bonus being real money, not overinflated stock.
Sometimes I worry that people don’t understand how “net worth” actually works.
Not every headline is accurate folks.
$4 million bonus is tiny for a tech CEO
Sounds quite anticlimactic after Elon’s trillion dollar incentive. Even though it’s still a lot of money.
Poor guy. I hope he can figure it out.
That’s a lotta leather jackets
He could distribute 100k to 40 people who are struggling and still be a billionaire.
I know jackshit about AI but know Jensen is a bullshit hustler . For years he blocked Gsync in freesync only monitors , intending to sell their own Gsync monitors with bag fat markups. All the time he proclaimed the chip inside the monitors was vital. But when samsung and others released LCDs with freesync he had to push an update making Gsync working on freesync monitors.
I swear the purposeful misunderstanding between liquid cash and net worth has got to be one of the most brain dead things people engage in these days.
For someone making $52k a year after taxes, that’s $104 dollars.
Anyway, billionaires are functionally useless. This shit is stupid.
4 million to him is like me finding a piece of lint on the ground.
