If they cared about kids they wouldn’t cut medicaid and school funding.

Use the California and Colorado framework of requiring the OS to transmit anonymized data. This puts the responsibility on parents to set up the kids devices properly and lets everyone else just be an adult without losing our privacy!

This news brought to you by the Department of Magnanimous Stupidity Department. In another couple of months you’ll be reading all about compliance lawsuits and skyrocketing identity theft making everyday life intolerably shitty and expensive.

I doubt this was about the children. This is for mass surveillance and tracking. They’re adding this requirements to Operating systems, social media and other apps and websites.
And this trend is extending across the globe. Power like this can be greatly misused. It can be used to track and spy on people.
People need to push back.

Adult surveillance was always the goal.

That was the purpose all along. As if anyone in government gives a shit about kids anyway. Except for the President. I think we all know how much he loves kids.

Reddit is my last social media, and if they force this then I guess I’m finished here too. Obviously we’re being surveilled in many places, but I don’t have to help it along.

As I said in another post, the tech exists to use encrypted blockchain-based ID and zero-knowledge proofs to verify age without disclosing identity. That they don’t want to implement that solution shows they really just want to monitor and control people. They DGAF about the kids.

It’s never been about child safety, they use that to push the agenda. Nobody is going to vote against child safety. It’s a save the puppies act.

– a) children should not be online in the first place.
– b) protecting children happens at home and in school.
– c) expand funding for education and healthcare, as an educated population is a safer population.
– d) adults are being actively surveilled.
– e) predators have an easier time identifying children through these dangerous mechanisms to „protect children“.

It always seems to work out that way, doesnt it?
