Those in charge need to understand this!

Objectively, you would do well to find 1 person that needs to return home from Iran

Real problem if we send those girls home – they will definitely be persecuted.

> they must contend with two possible realities.
> One, where they return home, and could face punishment from the Islamic Republic regime for choosing not to sing the national anthem before their first game. Or another, where they stay in Australia, and their families and loved ones could instead suffer retribution.
They can hope for a 3rd solution, the regime changes before they’re able to go back. There isn’t much hope but it’s better than nothing.

Weren’t they saluting their armed forces though???

If the people pushing for this war truly are in this for the good of the Iranian people, then I would assume nations involved would be lining up to offer asylum to these women, yes?

C’mon Australia, Japan has extended visas for all Iranians.

I think the Iranian regime has other things to worry about right now than the Iranian women’s football team.

Aussie here; they’d be welcome! What they did was fucking brave.

Send them home once all the leaders of Iran are wiped out

How do you even get back to Iran anyway? There is no more a commercial flight between Australia and Iran. The airspace is closed.

There isn’t really 2 options. There’s one option where their families suffer and the players stay safe here, or there’s the option where they go back and suffer alongside their families. The Iranian regimes tend to have a ‘whole barrel is rotten’ approach to dissent. I don’t actually know of a single family member who, if they love these women, would want them to return. They are out and can have a life – if you love someone, you’d never deny them that.
