      >Sir Sadiq Khan said the money would be dedicated to supporting women and girls from Black, Asian and minority-ethnic communities and other underrepresented groups, including, those with No Recourse to Public Funds

so it’s discriminatory on many levels

Seems like a good idea to target the support to the groups within which women being abused face the greatest barriers to seeking help – stigma, family expectations etc.

„other underrepresented groups“ underrepresented in what? Abuse?

So, I stayed in one of the kinds of refuges this would target, one that specifically catered to the needs of women of indian and pakistani backgrounds.

I’m white though. And so were a fair few others there. Funding being directed to communities with specific needs that are sometimes neglected in other environments does not mean other groups are inherently cut off from that.

I promise you, it ain’t gonna kill white women to be in environments catering to other women.
