    **In Brief:**

Economists say that while a price increase for oil and gas is welcome news in Canada’s oil patch, the longer the war with Iran lasts the more likely inflation will hit consumers in every corner of the economy.

  2. Imagine if we had a nationalized pipeline pumping oil east coast and west coast. The bozo liberals before us said “there’s no market for oil”. Great hindsight liberals – oh wait, they same cabinet ministers are still in power. ELBOWS UP!

  3. It’s just a matter of time till the entire Canadian economy collapses. We got off easy in 2008/09.

    It WONT happen again.

The col was already skyrocketing before Trump. Another deflection from the disastrous ten years of Liberal rule under Trudeau and now another underperforming year under Carney.

Canada’s cost of living has surged over the last decade and we’ve all seen the liberal budget, why are we pretending it’s all cause of Trump?

Maga bots literally posting „high gas prices are actually good“ all over the damn place, too 🤨

Guys I’m starting to think being so dependent on oil isn’t a good thing…

Trump is not responsible for the Canadian economy, we have our own government here.

And why shouldn’t we nationalize oil? That’s what the Saudis, Kuwaitis and Emiratis did, and it turned out very grand for them.

  10. Profit to oil companies and all corporations will skyrocket. Again and again

Everything in this country is so expensive and the wages arent moving. Were all just getting poorer and im fcking sick of it

  12. I’d rather focus on the cost of living aspects that the canadian government can directly affect that raise the cost way higher than gas prices.

These big companies want your money. And I don’t mean more of it. I mean _all of it_. They want it all. And they don’t give a single fuck if you’re struggling. They want your last dime. Food, transport, energy, shelter…. They want it all. They aren’t going to tighten their belts or reduce or erode their record profits (or heaven forbid, take a year in the red) for you. They still have a few bucks to wring out of you.

Everyone who voted for Trump should be real proud right now… you clowns gave that orange trashpile the ability to basically ruin the modern world… simply so he could hide his pedo and human trafficking past

  15. Hasn’t gasoline prices (negative) been the only thing holding inflation low (also the elimination of carbon tax which lowered CPI like 0.6%), get ready for the bank of Canada to come up with some reasons to increase cost of living by allowing high inflation for the next 3-4 years to stimulate the economy by creating massive wealth divides.. Target of 2%? Only when top 1% want it.. but they prefer to borrow at 2% and have assets growing at 5-20%.

Just pretend it’s a brand new carbon tax and supporters will come back saying how it won’t affect overall prices.

I know they’re not for everyone but I implore everyone who has 2 vehicles in their garage and parks at home most nights to look at an EV. There are more and more in lots of price points. I bet you don’t drive 1000km in one sitting like you think and electricity is 1/10th the price of gas

Shouldn’t the increase in the price of oil be *good* for our economy, seeing as we have the 3rd largest amount of oil reserves of any country in the world?

  19. That means the prices will go down when this stupidity ends right…

    Right…?

    RIGHT???

  20. But that’s ok. The big oil execs can afford even bigger yachts they’ll be accompanies by their media buddies and their bought politicians at all the swankiest boat parties.
