Vulnerable to what? Dudes on bicycles? Cause that’s about all they have left.

Same shit different decade. Way to go Vlad. Nice work. For someone who doesn’t want NATO at its front door it seems you might have miscalculated. I have little doubt the Finns take this rhetoric with a grain of salt.

Must go both ways, so surely Orcistan will get rid of their nukes now, right?

Something tells me that Russia is the one who’s really afraid here. Ten minutes to the targeting of Moscow is probably the last thing Putin wants to hear.

Hope atleast nato nations get their own personal nukes, this is the only deterrence to US or Russia

Just a random little funfact, the translation of the press release regarding that is worded extremely similarly to Trumps press release where he said the exact same thing about Poland. He didn’t however bother with criticising France, which I found weird

It is a security problem that russia has nukes. If they dismantle all their nukes and hand them over I am sure a pinky promise can be made not to be aggressive towards russia for at least a decade.

  8. Russia is warning Finland that Russia would be more vulnerable if Finland hosted nuclear weapons.

  9. Didn’t expect them to react at all. But hey, guess russia couldn’t pass on such on opportunity to humiliate themselves once again.
Finland will go as planned and russia will sit there quietly, mumbling something about nukes and WW3.

  10. „Yeah you dont want to have nukes, after all how would I able to invade you if you did?“

  11. As a Finn, I consider this to an entirely meaningless and empty threat because Russia isn’t at this point capable of saying anything which would escalate their threat level or threat profile, as they’ve already willfully posed themselves as an existential threat to Finland ages ago and can’t exactly go further from there. The only meaningful part is whether they are capable of fulfilling their threats and currently they for the most part can’t, apart from covert sabotage or a nuclear strike.

  12. Finland reminds Russia of the Winter War, and that you can’t fight a war on two fronts.

It has become clear that in the 21st century, contrary to what those living in the 20th century seemed to think, nuclear weapons are the only guarantee of national sovereignty.

I don’t see Russians being keen to have a fight in the forest after what happened last time.

Is Russia more vulnerable because it hosts nuclear weapons ?

Do Russian spokespersons every think about the stupid things they say ?

  16. So , exactly the opposite .

As usual russia , when you say something , truth is usually the other way around .

    Puck Futin!

  17. Nice of Russia to go to give their concern, without an alterior agenda….wait.

  18. antiquemule on

So, by that logic, Russia should get rid of its nuclear weapons, to become safer.

  19. As a Finn I do not believe we will host nukes here. However the old law complete forbids manufacture, testing and hosting nukes on finnish soil. Which basically means that if a NATO plane carrying nukes would need to make an emergency landing in Finland, it would be in violation of this law the moment it would touch the ground. They are adjusting laws to prevent problems with NATO membership.

Makes sense, just like bullies are more likely to pick on you, if they know you hit back and you are training in a boxing gym.

Russia : „if you have nukes on our border you will be unsafe‘

Also Russia : „haha that dumbass Ukraine actually fell for it, lmao, got’em“

At this point Putin is just hoping the west eats crayons and drinks paint thinner. How amnesic does he think we are ?

… To be perfectly honest, I kinda see where he’s coming from…

  23. This is getting so boring. (I know it isn’t boring for the people of Ukraine, it is life and death, and it is horrible they are in this situation) Why didn’t Putin and Russia just take the money? Him and the Oligarchs were making billions selling gas and oil to Europe, they were buying sports teams and big yachts. Countries were getting complacent and disarming. Why did they ruin it all? It makes no logical sense.

And you wonder why Finland withdrew from the Landmine treaty. Go ahead Russia, find out why the snow speaks Finnish
