This is great, and another example of Carney as a strategist.

„“The deal reached today reduces regulatory uncertainty, speeds up approvals, and puts Alberta in the driver’s seat so we can get pipelines and large projects approved and built faster,“ Smith wrote.“

And then, nobody will want to get into that „driver’s seat“ as with the example of building a new pipeline, demonstrating that the problem has never been Ottawa, but Alberta having unrealistic expectations that are not connected with the reality of the 21st century.

And it still doesn’t supersede the sovereignty of other provinces, so Alberta cannot push for stuff while disregarding everyone around.

This is good news. As much as I was a supporter of Trudeau, I’m seeing Carney can get even more accomplished with all of the various regions in Canada. He’s following through and getting the job done. Shovels will start hitting the ground on some of these projects in due course. This should also weaken the separatist cause as their entire argument relies on Ottawa and Edmonton not being able to work together.
