And THIS is why the conservatives are satisfied to have that loser Poilievre keep on taking the hit. Can you imagine what kind of visionary they would have to put forward as a viable contender for the work Carney is doing for Canada right now? Carney is walking a political tightrope that has kept our country from being consumed by the USA. Poilievre and his supporters would have us become a vassal of the USA.

These polls are the way they are because Canada doesn’t need an election right now. You just had one.

Largely all that changed was it’s leader. (Who in my opinion has been excellent for us now and where we want to go)

Carney is a damn professional with exactly the right experience and attitude for this point in time.
Since becoming PM, all I’ve seen the dude do is get shit done. Meeting after meeting, agreement after agreement, and he’s handling Trump and US relations marvelously.
I suspect people will find him dry and boring once more stable times come around, but right now I’m really loving having a proper leader in place.
Much more talk from Carney about joining Trump’s war with Iran and the polls will be reversed.
Nobody wants an election, it’s not just the conservatives.
This is incredibly telling. Lilley is a bought and paid for conservative hack. If he’s penning ‚opinion pieces‘ that are this bleak and preemptively firing up anger about an unnecessary election it must be dark days indeed inside CPC-HQ. Carney could really take this as a mandate to do govern as a majority secure in the knowledge that CPC won’t trigger an election come hell or high water.
Hardly a surprise. Whether Carney is your kind of leader or not, it’s hard to stomach Poilievre. He might have a strong party base, but the national electorate won’t put the CPC in power with humans leader if there’s anything resembling a sensible alternative on the ballot.
This just shows how much people hated Trudeau.
Wildly enough I saw another poll saying that while most Canadians don’t want an election to happen right now, it’s insanely Conservative voters who are most likely to be asking for one.
Is there something wrong if an opposition leader who does not want an election every year? Canadian newspapers get nuttier and nuttier.
I’m all for defending the Liberals and giving my props, but I’m very confused about the leanings on this sub. Everyone here is backing the support they have, but just a few posts down where Carney’s immigration minister is set to apply his policy of giving foreign workers PR, all I see is Anti-Liberal leanings. Is it just ‚Pierre-bad‘ and then throw Carney’s policy ideas and everything else to the prey? Or is Carney genuinely liked for his policies and ideas?
Well seriously what do the Conservatives have to offer? They had to stack the convention so P.P. could retain his leadership.
And now that he realizes people are onto his slogan trick he goes on a world tour because it’s working for Carney.

What these polls reflect is that there are still a majority that are sheep of the flock.
The country is still is a decline overall. It baffles me how the population blindly follows the party that is bankrupting our nation. Do your research, wake up.
