I just flew out of there back to Calgary. What a shit show.
They should be charging the prevailing commercial rate for a seat at the time the person confirms they want to be on the flight. If you’re a tourist, you should have travel insurance and if you’re living there, you shouldn’t be getting flown to Canada when things in your home country get spicy

I have a friend who chartered a private jet to get out of there. It’s a shit show there indeed
Move to Canada for Canadian passport and move back to Dubai. Now we are sending flights on taxpayers dime. Maybe it’s time for global tax just like USA.

I’d say most of them got their Canadian citizenship for their retirement with zero contributions made towards our society.
The ones paying no taxes in Canada should be the last on the list. Also leave the influencers.
If they can make it out on their own, they should do so.
So I’m currently in Dubai. I’ve registered for Canadians abroad. Daily phone calls to the embassy. This is what I’ve heard from one of the agents, the people able to get out have family ties to liberal politicians and are prioritized in evacuation efforts. Unfortunately I’m not as lucky as them, but this is where we are with our government in power.
