I’m just bluntly straight up confused why the fuck we are even there.

Every reason I’ve heard so far seems to start with *“uh.. well.. you see..“*

    2. He also said picking a new leader would be „easy“ and most crucialy, he said he doesn’t mind if the next leader of Iran is a religious leader because „he likes religious leaders“:

      >**Trump expressed confidence in the ease of picking a new leader in Iran — which he’s said he must be involved in — and again compared the mission to Venezuela, where the US captured Nicolás Maduro earlier this year and put his deputy in power.**

      >**“It’s gonna work very easily. It’s going to work like did in Venezuela. We have a wonderful leader there. She’s doing a fantastic job. And it’s going to work Iike in Venezuela,” he said, referring to acting president Delcy Rodriguez.**

      >**Trump also said he was open to having a religious leader in Iran. “Well I may be yeah, I mean, it depends on who the person is. I don’t mind religious leaders. I deal with a lot of religious leaders and they are fantastic,” he said.**

“As long as they are under my thumb, I don’t care what they are.” -Trump, probably.

why do they still ask him questions as if he has any idea what he’s doing or plans anything out? US media is such a joke

It’s amusing that the talking heads were saying if you don’t agree with launching a war without a plan it means you support the Iranian regime and the oppression of its people. This may take the cake as the dumbest thing Trump has done.

He’s trying to get rid of democracy at home. Why would he want to introduce it in Iran? A puppet dictator would be much more beneficial for the oligarchy.

    7. Honestly America, this shit show is on you all.

Literally, the whole world said it’s been insanity for a year but you still won’t do anything.

And before you complain – yes, we know you demonstrated three times and nothing changed.

    8. IceBearKnows89 on

He doesn’t care about freedom, liberty, or democracy.

He just wants them to comply. Doesn’t matter who the leader is, form of government, or what they do to their own people.

Bend the knee to trump and you’re a friend.

We really looked at the way Russia operates and said “hold my beer”. Took up to another level. We’ve never had a global bully like the US is currently.

Very dangerous times. This ain’t WWIII, but it is the chapter that comes right before it.

So regime change was never the plan.

Boy this shit will continue to get worse every single day I swear

Imagine ANY other president, Republican or Democrat saying any of this insane bullshit and just getting the pass this pedo traitor gets.

It is madness. The Republican Party has lost its fucking mind and we are all collateral damage for this dumb fucking cult.

    11. SkiHistoryHikeGuy on

He doesnt give a shit. He’s doing what he did every other time he fucked up something in his life: walk away and pretend it never happened. Let someone else deal with the consequences.

    12. No shit.

Trump prefers fascist dictatorships both in the US and abroad. It’s much much easier to enrich yourself that way.

    13. Sweatytubesock on

Like he’s ever in his entire parasitic, worthless life has given the slightest shit about democracy or literally anything else other than what’s good for Trump.

    14. Yeah all he cares about is getting their oil, doesn’t care *how* he gets it

    15. then what’s the point? If we are worried they are going to get nukes and we don’t do anything to change the regime then we are just going to spend $2 billion every year blowing up their nuke development program and killing school children along the way. That’s not a long term plan.

      to me the options are

      1. do what trump and Israel seem to want to do and go there every few months and blow shit up
      2. get involved in another 20 year engagement of nation building that just crumbles in to anarchy
      3. negotiate some kind of agreement with Iran that we will give them some concessions if they don’t build nukes. We could have inspectors go into their country to confirm that they don’t have nukes

I have my opinions on which is the best option but hey I’m just a random person and not the president

This is clearly a miscalculated play in which they thought they could do what they did to Venezuela and replace leadership. Iran clearly isn’t playing along. Now Trump is stuck with his complete and utter lack of foresight, leadership, or diplomacy and finds himself in a war that has no advantage for him or the USA.

There is no plan there is no follow up. It’s a removable offense from office. Like his pedophilia, rape, war crimes, and illegal deals, insurrection, fraud, and undemocratic policies. Literally the murders of American citizens are because of his policy and work to make fascism the rule of law. The “preemptive strike” on Iran is bizarre and while I won’t cry for the dead leadership of Iran I will for its children murdered by these actions. Or the radicalism that will ripple for generations as this event will have consequences that will continue long after this dictator is dead.

    18. IAppear_Missing on

Well yeah.. being involved in „choosing“ their next leader kinda goes against the tenets of a democracy

    19. I thought the US wanted to get out of the stick holding business. This strategy requires a lot stick holding. Perpetual stick holding.

    20. There are no truly democratic states in the Arab World. Iran wasn’t a democracy during the Shah’s regime. But it was much better than what it is now

    21. Yeah, we can’t bomb countries into liking us. That’s not how that works at all.

    22. He doesn’t give a shit about the people of Iran, so we can dispense with the pretense that it’s about toppling a brutal dictator. Trump loves brutal dictators. He doesn’t like brutal dictators that aren’t nice to him.

Very little of this is in the U.S.’s interest.

    23. iamnosuperman123 on

On this occasion he is right to not care. He just wants a USA sympathetic Iran.

    24. Sunsetmargaritas on

Trump simply doesn’t care how Iran turns out. As long as people forget about DHS, ICE and Epstein, he’s gold.

Plus, like with Venezuela, he can extort some kind of cash or oil deal where a portion of that goes to him directly in favor of stopping the „special operation“.

    25. ElephantOk4715 on

Yea that tracks with him “joking” for years about wanting to be a dictator and rule with an iron fist.

    26. He probably thinks the republicans will win the elections there and it’ll be a red state and not blue
