    1. > If you’re blasting TikTok videos out loud on your next United Airlines flight, think again — you might receive a permanent ban from the Chicago-based airline.

United still won’t be my airline of choice because history has shown how shit they are, but I don’t hate this policy.

Nothing wrong with that. Some people have no concept that the people around them don’t want to hear whatever crap they’re listening to. It’s called being considerate.

      > or shall have the right to remove from the aircraft at any point,

I think we all can agree on exactly when, during a flight, this option should be exercised for people watching a movie without headphones on the plane.

This applies to toddlers too, right? Some of the worst offenders are people who hand their kid a tablet to shut them up.

They should be able to ban anyone who is causing disruption/annoyance for the rest of the passengers.

    6. Horribly worded title.
The policy is very reasonable. United can boot passengers who refuse to use headphones with their device. Basically. Use headphones or turn your shit off. People are trying to sleep.

Get quiet or get banned from future flights.

Sounds good to me. There is nothing worse than some asshole playing a movie with sound on their tablet.

Or even worse, some kid playing some awful repetitive video game at full volume.

This is a policy I’m fine with. It’s obnoxious. And I give my own mom shit for FaceTiming in public all the time with her phone volume all the way up.

    9. I’m actually thrilled about this, and want more of it. The number of people who have decided there’s nothing wrong with full conversations on speaker or watching tik tok/sports/what have you in public spaces with zero consideration for the people around them is rage-making.

What I find most effective to get them to stop is to play the most annoying sound I can, as loud as I can, with unbroken eye contact. Works much better than politely asking, which is sad.

Good, it’s actually insane that some people play music or videos out loud on airplanes

    11. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This should be the rule on all the airlines.

When the hell did it become acceptable to not use headphones with your phone in public like this?

Restaurants should be next. I’m talking to those of you that use speaker phone in public.

Even before COVID, i was on a flight where a lady watched a movie on her laptop without headphones and brayed like a donkey at how hilarious it was.

    14. This should be a rule in public places. No one wants to hear your movie, music, or phone conversation.

    15. i’m literally on a plane right now with someone listening to their music out loud…

    16. Make this a global rule for every single location on earth. In 2026 if you’re in public and not wearing headphones, can i just give you $20 to go buy some cuz wtf

“Right to refuse transport on a permanent or temporary basis or shall have the right to remove from the aircraft at any point”.

There are people who don’t use headphones on the plane? Must be a US thing since I have never encountered that on any flights I have taken.

    19. QuajerazPrime on

Good, fuck anybody who plays audio aloud in a public place. You can all go hell, I don’t care about your excuse.

    20. Headline is straight up clickbait. The policy is about people that play audio without headphones, not people that are just not wearing headphones.
