We absolutely should be increasing our LNG exports to Europe. It’s ridiculous how reliant they’ve become on Russian energy.

      >Citing an Iranian drone attack on a Qatari liquefied natural gas facility on Monday, Poilievre said the current instability in the Middle East has driven energy prices sharply higher in Europe.

      >He said that’s the kind of hit Germany could avoid by shifting its LNG sourcing to Canada.

      >The Conservative leader blamed former prime minister Justin Trudeau for not making the business case for Canadian LNG when Berlin was in the market years ago, pushing Germany to rely instead on countries like Russia and Qatar.

      >“Free nations should not have to rely on less stable suppliers when a trusted ally sits on abundant reserves. Canada can be your supplier. We will earn that role,” he said.

      >Canada does not have any LNG export terminals on the East Coast.

Thaaaaaaannks JT!! Keep dating pop stars and try and stay away from anything important going forward.

    3. Remember when our dear refused to sell LNG to Germany saying there was no business case ? Another opportunity missed.

My man goes to Germany and still has to fucking talk about Trudeau. He is completely obsessed with that man, it’s not healthy.

So when will PP wave his magic wand and make an LNG terminal appear on the east coast, along with a pipeline to supply it?

    6. you know who doesn’t have to pipe gas 4000 km to tidewater?

      EVERYONE.

a pipeline to the east coast is nothing more than a make work, rent seeking subsidy to all the have not provinces bar PEI

Does it seem like Polievre is now trying to copy Carney’s strategy of building international partnerships and deals? I guess he’s moved on from slogans?

Pretty sure they were the reason the east coast lng failed last go round as they wouldn’t sign up for a long term contract to backstop its construction.

Glad to see him jumping on as a team player. Good move, props where it’s due.

But I still don’t like him.

He is latching on like a male angler fish does to the female.

Eventually he will wither down to being nothing more than a gonad.

Why is this turd speaking on behalf of Canada? Has no legitimate authority whatsoever. 29% approval rating? FFS.

    12. Pierre actually doing something instead of just trying to criticise and rage bait everything carney does ?

It’s nice to see Pierre realizing if you want to be a leader, then you have to act like one. Rage baiting and radicalizing your core group is not gonna get you anywhere, so it’s nice to see him actually trying something new. It is kinda funny though seeing him do this after a year of criticizing carney for „wasting taxpayer money“ on all his diplomatic trips

Europe should go out of their way to pay a premium for Canadian energy if they are serious about the Ukraine situation and removing their dependence on Russian energy. Otherwise it’s all lip service.

    14. Literally nothing bad about this. Only reason to not like this is because it isn’t your guy doing it.

Carney is in Australia trying to bolster trade with them, doesn’t hurt to have someone in Europe doing the same thing at the same time.

    15. Only if the government can fast track some NG pipelines to feed plants on the east coast or Hudson’s Bay.

    16. Umm 🤔 who’s paying for his trip? Or is he part of a Liberal backed delegation .
