  1. Lets see if China up’s the EV rebates and does another cash-for-clunkers for gas/diesel cars.

Is this to break the market, or is China going to stockpile in preparation for their own war?

  3. I’m just waiting for the inevitable „Trump did this“ pic from US gas stations.

It’ll be unironic this time, though.

  4. Why doesn’t China simply import more oil from Russia if it’s facing a shortage? Pretty sure the two countries have got a couple of exclusive pipelines.

Iran was selling supplies to them and represented a supplier in case of conflict with the West. China will now build more reserves as a response

  6. About 44% of all Oil/Petroleum to china are from middle east country, and basically all travel from straits of Hormuz.

If 40% doesn’t sound like a lot? Try cutting your electrical bill by 40% a month, and you will see how much that would have sucked. Put it into a country scale and you will have a crisis at hand.

I suspect China is gonna get involved if the situation didn’t improve in half a year. Ohhh boi here come the energy war we all been warned about

China pulling up the drawbridge to protect its own economy from the fallout of the Iran war.

Many countries in Asia-Pacific region (australia, phillipines, vietnam, thailand..) rely on these Chinese refineries to provide them with the diesel they need for trucking and industry. China is basically exporting its energy crisis to the rest of Asia with this, this is going to cause a massive spike in fuel prices across the continent.

China believes this war is not going to end quickly and are willing to tank the regional fuel market to make sure their own factories and trucks keep moving.

Trump causing another American Oil Crisis – similar if not likely worse than that of 1973 – is honestly on brand for him.

Everything is so interconnected these days. This will help china in the short run but in the long run, if other countries suffer, so will china.

    We’re all so fucked.

What about natural gas? The blockade also affects the gas supplies

I’m curious to see if Chinese EVs, battery banks, and solar panels make a move here – especially if this conflict stretches out any real length of time.
