  1. Better to end strong than go out with a whimper or drag the plot to a standstill to milk the series for as long as possible. I think shows that end in 4-5 seasons of their own accord are usually really good. Like, they were able to accomplish their vision and leave you with a satisfying ending. What a ride.

I remember seeing season 4 was the end when that came out. The ending of that season felt decent enough, so I’m just confused/surprised. Not complaining about a 5th season tho

Its clear they wanted the show to be about Sydney

S1 and 2 were great after that , they should have just made a spin off for her running her own restaurant. And let the bear be the bear.

This show just never really found its footing. Too many insufferable characters that we’re supposed to root for, not enough growth, and that girlfriend character was one of the worst written women I’ve ever seen in a show

Nice! I loved the first two seasons even though they could be brutal emotionally to watch, and then hated every moment after.

  6. Probably for the best. The cracks were starting to show for me after that corny ass ending to the wedding episode where all the main characters got under the table to basically share their feelings. It felt like it was straight out of a TGIF sitcom. I kept thinking “is this same series that had that intense Christmas episode?”

  7. OK. But… What was the Bear?

Was the Bear the restaurant? The guy? Was there an actual bear involved?

    Season 1 – awesome!
Season 2 – good, then the episode which is one of the best episodes of a tv show I’ve ever seen.
Season 3 – went really artsy, boring.
Season 4 – barely remember anything besides the bizarre finale.

One more season can absolutely wrap everything up, but the show could have been legendary if it ended after season 2.

Hopefully they can clean up that horrendous finale. I say horrendous even though the acting was incredible. But plot wise it was so bad.

I don’t get people saying season 3 was bad. It was just as good as season 1. 4 was rough though. Glad it’s ending because I still think it can go down as a great show.

  10. I live in the Chicagoland area, and I know someone who is a location consultant for movies and TV shows. She’s super busy with multiple projects scouting restaurants and bars as locations for projects. Shows that take place in a restaurant, shows where a family runs a restaurant, a bar, a bar/restaurant, etc. One project is looking for multiple restuarant locations. They are even looking at restaurants in the far out burbs.

All of a sudden the world’s is fascinated by our food scene!

Started off good, then started taking itself too seriously. Hope it ends on an up note.

3 and 4 really should’ve been condensed imo but glad it’s getting an ending before it gets too stretched out and loses quality. 4 was a return to form thank goodness

I couldn’t even finish season 4, it was so boring. It lost the flair the first two seasons had

  14. S3 and 4 should’ve been one season and it would’ve been great.

They can’t still bring it home with this last season.
