Please do so, maybe the shits we call politicians would stop pampering Russia

Great! We got a huge issue with the influencial fossil fuel lobby, they are heavily lobbying against renewables and private PV setups and for restoring ties with russia. Closing that window will empower their opposition and speed the change to renewables and finally energy independance.

Unless he is threatening with a specific demand, then its just noise for domestic consumption.

There is no way he just does in on a whim. Given the Middle East is rediscovering their dependence on western security guarantees, its one hell of a time try to go solo on an energy boycott.

  5. Ok. That’s basically Hungary and Slovakia(?) who are still buying any significant volume form Russia.

He could also stop the war in Ukraine.

He could tell everyone what he really honestly thinks about Donald Trump.

He could tell everyone exactly how much money he’s stolen from the Russian people over the years.

He could do a lot of things…

And starve within 3 months? Sure, Vlad. Your economy can support it. Go ahead.

  8. Putin still hits on an interesting point, though.

Anyone who is against Russian aggression shouldn’t even be giving him a chance to sell his wares to them. Find another buyer if you actually stand against it.

The fact that anybody is still able to expand/levy sanctions or pull back business at this stage is a mere sign of a previous lack of commitment to its own stated values. There should be nothing more that could be done for a country who doesn’t want to tolerate Putin as their bedfellow.

Oh no… How will we survive… We’ll have to eat all our pets and die in our frigid summers. If only we had one other source of fuel than Russian gas.

Even more reason to accelerate the overthrow of the Islamic Republic. Iran has the world’s third largest natural gas reserves.

It’s not like it matters. They will sell the gas to India who will then sell it to Europe. It’s what they have been doing for years since the Ukraine war.

Could = Won’t, why, gas oligarchs need cash, he be windowed if he did.

  13. Sounds like a great way to force the government to stop buying Russian energy and will also absolutely devastate Russia financially.

Oh today, it’s stopping gas supplies yesterday. It was nukes. I can’t keep up.

  15. I don’t think people realise what this would entail.
For that reason, I hope they stop.

So he is threatening to kill his own countries economy. Interesting tactic lets see how it plays out.

This is interesting, With Iran and oil prices, he’s trying to add shock to the market and prove why Europe needs him to undermine Ukraine. Bright strategy. Partnership by hostage negotiation is a brilliant move (/s).

So, it comes down to him threatening gas cutoff.

From saber rattling, to waving around a butter knife.

I’d say it was humbling for him, but he’s too narcissistic.

  19. Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, and now Russia with gas. This will hopefully be the killing blow to the oil industry. All China needs to do is show up and say, „hey, guys, look at all my renewables for sale!“ and suddenly its richer and better connected than America (simplified, obviously, but Trump has crashed America’s renewable adoption in favour of reviving its dead coal industry, so instead of going stagnant America is actively moving backwards while China sprints forward).

  20. Do it, maybe then our politicians will realize it’s time to invest into new renewable energies instead of clinging to old technology, just because lobbyist bribe them to.

Seems like someone is acutely aware that nobody thought of him for 48 hours. Needs to remind himself he still exists.

  22. ….. they’re still buying Russian gas? I thought they all shifted away from Russia like two years ago?
