yeah you heard wrong. If for example China is short on oil, the oil companies there will outbid Irish companies for North Sea oil. The price of oil is going up in every country, plenty of Americans on reddit already complaining about „gas prices“.

    2. it march anyways , its near the time to turn off the heating anyways ,

prices will come down after the US bombing will stop

1.89 for diesel in a self-service place beside me. It was 20c cheaper on Sunday.

    4. I was f*cking raging a week and a half ago that I’d to buy oil for myself. Feel blessed now.

    5. Price of kerosene never went down after Ukraine and now it’s going up again?? I cant

    6. Why is it whenever my fuel tank begins to look low, trump starts another war?

    7. I called yesterday to order kerosene, blissfully unaware of the price hikes, and the guy in the depot literally said „if you have any fuel to tide you over and can hold on a while, I really wouldn’t buy it now if I were you“. Never had someone selling oil advise me not to buy oil before.

    8. I paid €479 for 500 litres on 30 December.

Today the same amount in €725.

    9. I ordered oil on Monday… just to top up the tank 200lts
      Monday:€286
Today:€401. When price gouging meets shitehawkery

    10. Guess it’ll be a cold march in my house cos I’m not topping up again with these hikes I’ll top up again in the summer before it’s time for the hearing to come back on again.

    11. But… but I thought the prices get locked in months in advance, thats their excuse when price per barrel goes down anyway.

They wouldn’t lie to us would they??

    12. Now now lads, there is no reason for gouging…… Our oil is from the north sea….. Now now….. Tsk tsk…..

      Carry on

Energy should be nationalized end of story. The answer for this will be fuel grants and allowances and all it will do is keep prices high

Doesn’t matter where we get it from – if it’s more expensive elsewhere it’ll go there, so we have to pay more. Commodity markets are not local but global.

    16. The Americans have secured the Strait of Hormuz, and offered to insure any tankers going though it after Lloyds pulled cover, so this spike should drop back soon.
