F Altman. Cancelling my account doesn’t hurt them financially, but articles in the press about X million people cancelling will hurt their market share.

I did cancel mine, but now I’m wonder to which other evil lord send my 20 bucks a month

Do they even care, they can lean on government contracts now I guess

    4. Stop using AI in general. They all are. I cannot believe how many people are using this crap when it is so obviously evil and self deprecating.

Your tax dollars are now funding this.

Unless you stop paying taxes you are being forced to fund authoritarianism.

Switched to Claude for the time being but will monitor what they do

The same could be said about Meta and x “services.” I can’t seem to convince my friends that they are enabling the dark state by selling their privacy to them.

Nobody should be paying for AI. It’s a theft machine that’s being developed to replace workers so that companies can maximize profits.

my only regret is noticing claude had an export prompt I could have used before wiping the service

Genuinely curious as to why people pay for AI subscriptions in the first place, literally just glorified search engines as far as I’m concerned.

    11. I have the app on my phone.

I’ve used it maybe two dozen times, but I’ve never registered my name or email with it.

I don’t personally see any benefit using it. It seems pretty useless.

Should I go ahead and delete it?

Now, search engine AIs are impossible to avoid. I’d like for search engines to show me websites again and take me to accurate results on the first try.

    12. Yes, delete ChatGPT.

But let’s be clear, Claude is [hardly any better](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ai-executive-dario-amodei-on-the-red-lines-anthropic-would-not-cross/):

      >“We have these two red lines,“ said Amodei. „We’ve had them from Day One. We are still advocating for those red lines. We’re not gonna move on those red lines.“

      >Those red lines? Not allowing Anthropic’s AI to perform mass surveillance of Americans, and prohibiting its AI from powering fully-autonomous weapons without any human involvement.

These are the only red lines Amodei has drawn, and who knows how long they will last, given that Anthropic [dropped its safety pledge](https://time.com/7380854/exclusive-anthropic-drops-flagship-safety-pledge/) recently.

He is totally fine with the [weaponisation of AI](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-03-02/anthropic-made-pitch-in-drone-swarm-contest-during-pentagon-feud):

      >Anthropic PBC was among the artificial intelligence companies that submitted a proposal earlier this year to compete in a $100 million Pentagon prize challenge to produce technology for voice-controlled, autonomous drone swarming, according to people familiar with the matter.

Claude is not the moral alternative. It’s just slightly less terrible.

I never paid for ChatGPT but did cancel it and requested all data/info be deleted. Whether they will comply or not remains to be seen, but doing my part and telling everyone who would listen to do the same.

I’m officially over AI. No more generating memes or videos or asking it any questions. 2026 will be a year of saving money thanks to all the cancelled subscriptions.

I deleted ChatGPT yesterday, finally deleted X a month ago, slowly getting there

    15. All the people cancelling thinking their information is deleted.. you started this mess not really sure what you expected. This has been a predatory company from its inception, thinking you were the exception is comical. They stole everyone’s information, they’re going to use whatever you think you deleted too.

    16. Yah and so is any money you give to amazon, microslop, google, apple, spotify, and basically any big tech company and a lot of non-tech companies.

They all are pushing for authoritarianism. We all need to spend our money more carefully (I’ve already quit all those services above). But even then, I wonder if it’s too late. They’ve absorbed so much wealth already.

    17. Never had a subscription in the first place. My company’s still paying for one though :/

    18. Any use of “AI” is support for authoritarianism. None of the tech companies is innocent.
