  1. The CIA arming rebels? Surely that’s never gone wrong in US history. Not once

  2. MetalMoneky on

Probably should have thought of that 10 years ago. Of course turkey would have objected but this is like trying to build an airplane while you’re in the air.

  3. I’d take the guns and sit on them. Trump will send you Javlins one week and could cut a deal with the new Ayatollah the next.

  4. Tacitblue1973 on

I’m sure the Syrian Kurds would be invaluable in giving their opinion on America’s reliability as an ally.

  5. Dazzling-Leave-7448 on

Are they really going to fall for that again? They have that short of a memory?

  6. Material_Policy6327 on

Yeah that worked out well when we did the same
With the taliban. Also last trump admin turned on Kurds and let them be slaughtered

  7. Arming the rebels to fight the rebels that arm the rebels to fight the rebels.

US foreign policy never changes lol.

  8. Drunkasarous on

Genuinely feel bad for the Kurds they just get sent to die on the promise of their own nation every time

  9. WhatWhatWhat79 on

Apparently the Kurds have short-term memory issues. Surely the US doesn’t betray them this time. Surely.

  10. lives lost and trllions spent, just for the ayatollah’s son to inherit the mantle anyway hahahahahah

  11. One-Engineering-4505 on

Doesn’t this sort of thing work better when you do it in secret, rather then announcing it to the world?

  12. We’re flailing and desperately trying to pretend that we had a plan for this

  13. diggerhistory on

Turkiya might reject this very strongly – even militarily. A united Kurdistan involves war in Turkiya. Another ‚Forever War‘.

  14. Ill-Caterpillar-5224 on

Arming Kurdish proxies is straight out of the Cold War playbook. The question is whether it escalates Iran into a multi-front situation or just justifies them to crack down harder domestically.

  15. Kooky_Parsley9920 on

So even if they arm them, what’s the goal? Because if the regime falls were looking at a civil war and a humanitarian crisis and refugee crisis with a country of 90 million

  16. Mother_Airline_6276 on

This CIA will be just as inept as the Cold War CIA when it comes to “shit-stirring”. Probably more so.

Your children can now look forward to their very own 9/11 experience.

  18. Could you imagine if china delivered a cache of weapons to California and said the same thing?

    This is fucking wild

  19. johnnycyberpunk on

Didn’t Hegseth say we have the best most violent and lethal military in the world?
WTF do they need to arm a rag tag group of rebels for then?
When will this administration get their stories straight?

  20. OccidoViper on

The is gonna be like Afghanistan in the 70s. CIA helps Bin Laden by arming them to fight the Soviets. Then later on those same weapons are turned on us

  21. ThrowRA_EducatedMan on

Oh good. That should go very well over the long term, especially with the Turks. 😂

  22. Didn’t Trump pull out from Iraq and left the Kurds to fend for themselves in his first term?

  23. i_did_nothing_ on

Remove this fucking dumb shit from office and lock up his entire cabinet. Their incompetence is astounding.

  24. 1877KlownsForKids on

This is the stupidest fucking idea I’ve heard in a while, and will backfire to potentially genocidal consequences.

  25. Expert-Length871 on

Ah, another one of those brilliant ideas that works sooooo well.

    Clowns

  26. Arming a small ethnic minority – yeah I’m sure that’s going to go well.

  27. Man, If our country gave even half a shit about spending the amount of time and (our) money to help us here as they do spending it destabilizing societies in foreign countries, we’d have at least a few hundred fewer dead school students, two more towers, hundreds of thousands of more civilians and human military personnel, lower taxes, better education, affordable healthcare, public transit, better maintained infrastructure, a competent president, and perhaps a promising future.

Yet here we find ourselves, decades down the line with nepopresident pumpkin-tits starting wars in countries he’s never heard of until the morning of, a cabinet stocked with he most rancid human shit I’ve ever seen, and no clear end in sight.

As a millennial, I am disappointed in the generations before me. Growing up, the headlines were often „Millennials Killed this…“ or „Millennials are ruining that…“

At least we didn’t do this.

  28. There are… not nearly enough kurds to overthrow the core supporters of the shiite regime.

Something like 15mm people voted for the current govt in last elections.

And they have at least a million or so people in armed formal armies or paramilitary groups…

Against maybe 10 million kurds in the entire country…

  29. This move reeks of desperation, it’s becoming clear that the trump admin thought this was all gonna be another Venezuela boogaloo, be over by the weekend kind of ordeal and instead royally shit the bed here

  30. MyAccountWasBanned7 on

Aren’t they supposed to do stuff like that in secrecy? Isn’t letting everyone know that you’re going to try to manipulate them kind of counter-productive to actually being able to manipulate them?

  31. Mysterious_Anxiety15 on

    O! O! O! I know this one! I know this one!!!!

    20 years of failed occupation!!!!!!

    Nailed it……
