„The party is being deregistered for failing to file an auditor’s report relating to the general election of April 28, 2025, in accordance with the requirements set out in the Canada Elections Act.“
Gotta say that’s super on brand for a libertarian party.

I reckon this is the end of fringe parties
How long until Christian heritage and Animal protection get deregistered
The Marxists and communists will be the very last lol

A lot of fringe parties have been deregistered, I noticed. Is it just them giving up, or maybe they’re not going to bother with the paperwork until a little closer to election time?

What I don’t get is how a bunch of other parties have escaped this. [Ten](https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=fin&document=index&dir=oth/pol/aud/exp2025&lang=e) registered parties have returned these auditor’s reports for the most recent election, but there’s [15 registered parties](https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=pol&dir=par&document=index&lang=e) including the Libertarians. It’s been a month since they were due and the Animal Protection, Canadian Future, Centrist, and Green Parties all haven’t presented their reports. Does anyone know what’s different for them?
