Didn’t he give a fairly concise timeframe yesterday? And who says “on this specific date, we’re packing up and done”?

Now whether or not he sticks to said timeline is a completely different matter.

The last part of the title is a bit strange, though I understand that it is there for rhetorical effects.

There never was a war with an end date specified in advance, this sort of uncertainty is just inherent to wars.

  3. So about those Epstein Files? Dude must be shook since the EU is investigating….

Trump’s solution. Continue the war with Iran and pass it along to the next president.

The irony of the fact is that the very people who lobbied for being pro-life, are war mongers.

  6. On the bright side for Trump, there’s a lot of other things for people to think and talk about besides the Epstein files

Trump lies about EVERYTHING except how hot he thinks his daughters tits are

Trump said whatever it took to get elected. He doesn’t care if 100% of what he said were total lies. More than 77 million people bought it, either by enthusiastically voting for him or not voting at all.

Don’t worry everybody, the man who said he’d end the Russia-Ukraine war on „day 1“ says this’ll be 4-5 weeks maybe. So that puts it at only about 30-38 years or so based on his concept of time.

  10. I’m just waiting for him to hoist a banner, like the one used by GWB reading „MISSION ACCOMPLISHED“. It’s worth remembering that the Iraq war last over a decade after that.

For a good video on just how badly that went, watch the documentary „No End in Sight“.

tldr: War isn’t just, „bang, you’re dead“. It’s also, „OK, who’s going to clean up this mess?“

He said 5 weeks. I doubt that. They will only stop when they end the ruling party totally.

Funny how Epstein in the files said Trump would start a war in Iran and use the rally around the flag effect to gain support in the event he is cornered.

And cornered he indeed looks. Pathetic, he’s real scared of the midterms.

  13. In fairness, he’ll just bumble his way out of it whenever he wants to, right?

He’ll pull a GWB „mission accomplished“ style moment, declare victory, and end it whenever he feels like, and leave Iran and the region in chaos, and not care at all. He’ll have a long list of people to blame for the chaos other than himself.

In fact, he might like chaos there, because he could use that to justify flying back in, dropping a few more bombs, then declaring ‚victory‘ again whenever he wanted.

It’s legitimately a good and proven rule that whenever trump promises something „good“, he intends to do the opposite.

The only time he’s not lying is when he promises to do something awful.

It might not matter, but according to the law, the end date will be 60 days from the time hostilities began, plus an additional 30 days to leave.

  16. “End date” is the wrong way to look at it. It’s a clear goal that is needed.

And to any pro war commenters out there who are glad that the Supreme leader is dead, I’d like to emphasize the importance and moral grounding of Just War Theory. Four things are needed, and we have at best 1.5 of them, but I’d say 0 is just as likely: War as a last resort (not met), High likelihood of success (can’t be met without clear goals), competent authority (lol our military is led by a news anchor and an illiterate criminal), and just cause (debatable, but reports of Drunkseth sending out directives about this being the path to Armageddon diminish any good we did by removing a dictator).
