    1. Did someone pay money for this or were these given free? Who paid the money to get the records made in the first place? It’s not exactly cheap, you know.

    2. During the 70s and 80s, shipowners, or operators, to be more precise, had hard competition. Mainly, it ws between Silja Line and Viking Line sailing between Helsinki, Turku, Stockholm and some lesser ports. However, Vasabåtar, sailing between Vaasa, Umeå and Sundsvall was working hard to get a share of the business.

      The ship on the cover seems to be one of the Papenburg sister ships, ordered by Viking Line ship owners in the early 70s. Now being painted in Vasa colours, I’d guess the photo is from the (early) 80s. The songs on the record are popular dance tunes of the time, played by countless orchestras on these ships.

      It’s definitely better than Trio Erectus that used to play on the ship to Åland.
