Is this a solution for Japan and Taiwan? Move them to the Atlantic Ocean, not far from the east coast of the U.S.? Would make travel to the two easier for Americans on the east coast.

They could hit all kinds of harbors there.

How did they reach Hawaii??

Imagine if Florida had volcanoes. They shouldn’t be trusted with those things.

People in the anime community will joke about how small japan is when characters take multiple days to go cross country. But they don’t realize flying from Tokyo to hokkido is like flying from NYC to Chicago. Traveling that far outside the high speed rail will take a long time, especially because Japan has serious laws against FAS or large vehicles. Most people own kei cars, and those things typically cap out at around 55 to 60 mph.

This is a good perspective. I thought it was smaller in my mind. It is roughly the size of the 13 colonies.

This is fake. Japan is NOT on US East coast. It is on east of China in Chinese sea(?) at Eastern Pacific Ocean

this is just another map showing me that the US is NOT too big for a legit HSR system.

People from the East Coast think this makes Japan look huge, people from the rest of the US thinks this makes Japan look small because the East coast is small

Hmm, this perspective makes me realize that Japan is smaller than I thought, at least in its width. From shore to shore, it doesn’t look anywhere is wider than Massachusetts, except Hokaido (but not by much).
