I am a nurse at a hospital in rural New Brunswick and MAID is very very very easy to obtain

Im all for people dying with dignity on their own terms but im sure there is some corruption afoot as well

The entire country of Canada only euthanizing 7,644 dogs in a year stretches credulity.

How many people are in Canada vs how many dogs? By percentage, more dogs are being put down.

Wait til you all start dying of cancer, go through chemo torture, have it still not save you, but just make you more miserable and in pain. Then you are going to wish you have gotten MAID. If people want to be free to end their suffering, who are you to tell them no and force them to suffer?

If I ever get cancer, I would rather spend the last good time left with loved ones that way they remember me as myself and not a hollow, miserable, tortured shilloutte that can barely move and can’t speak except for groaning and crying in unberable pain, just lying in bed all day irresponsive. It would be selfish of myself to leave them that way and scar them forever with those images of me. If MAID was an option, it would 100% be the right thing to do by me and for my family. Deep down in their hearts, they would know it would be the right thing to do and also be on my side about it. Unless you have seen cancer, you have no idea.

    6. My Canadian aunt was dying of pancreatic cancer. She took all the treatments and hung on for a few years, but eventually it became too much. She had all the family around for final goodbyes and was able to pass away in her own home at her own choosing.

We wouldn’t deny that mercy and kindness to a dog, why would we deny it to people?

(And there are 5 times as many people as dogs in Canada)

According to the USA we in The Netherlands euthanize all the old people so yeah this must be true then

    8. I love watching people that don’t know how MAID works talking about MAID. Nothing wrong with dying with dignity. I know a few people who have gone through the process and it’s 100000x better than suffering in a hospital bed until the end.

    9. This falls under mind your own darn business. No one is forcing grandma to self delete.

First of all, the #s listed in this picture are inaccurate.

Second off, the people clutching their pearls about this are White Christian Nationalists who are obsessed with demographics. They don’t care that the planet is overpopulated, they want everyone to look exactly like them. That’s why you will see people acting like it’s a problem to let terminally ill people die with dignity at a time of their choosing.

    11. If part of Canada does succeed in breaking off and becoming part of the US do we write them in as ameriCANs or can we get a dollar bill with Washington chugging maple syrup with geese?

Another great boomer post without valid statistics.

And even if it is accurate, people are choosing to die on their own terms rather than being forced to continuously suffer as should be their right to decide.

its not eutanasia , its their choice animals do not have a choice humans do

    14. Honestly, I want the same services offered in the US. If we can’t have affordable living and healthcare and a government that isn’t Israel’s bitch, then at least give us fucking suicide clinics!.. Stop pretending this life is worth keeping us all alive!.. it’s not, especially the way it’s heading!

    15. Ahhh all the bots out here saying its about dying with dignity hahahaha. Nobody has a problem with that sooo. Its this kind of bullshit that people are pissed at

Weirdly, I had to have my old girl (doggo) put to rest on Friday; it was the kindest but hardest decision to make but I could just tell she had reached her limit. She was 16 and had all sorts of problems.

As somebody who has also witnessed the deterioration of a human being to the point where they’re begging to die it’s got me thinking about how everybody should have the right to die in a more dignified way.

    17. JazzlikeSkill5201 on

Makes sense. Humans are capable of saying that they want to die, while dogs are not.

Watch the criteria slip over time, and darker forces creep in. It will be a big scandal one day.
